I saw her too, with the silk sari and got all excited.
Yay, there really is silk on the island!
But then I remembered the brief period of time when silk saris could be made from magical, non-existant silk. I saw someone make at least one sari like that in Kwor Norfields.

back to the topic... it seems to me that in a SOCIETY SIMULATOR the supreme beings wh get to look down no the world from above (us) would get to know all the juicy details of how it all pans out. In a way, isn't that the point? In a role playing game, you (the player) are tied directly to yourself (the character). But in Cantr, you already have tons of information from each character that your other characters don't know. To impose an OOC desire to find things out IC seems silly, but not as silly as having the past completely forgotten.
To me, the point of Cantr is to see how the world evolves through time and the history is essential for that. Without a legitimate in game method for finding it all out (and without characters everywhere, you can't), I think that ancient history should be released OOC.
Of course people will have trouble not using it - its tough enough as it is - but truly ancient history wouldn't be of much IC use anyway.
The official secrets act has a 50 year rule - I think we should have something like that! I know thats not a lit of history yet, but its enough to be interesting.

Actually, alot of what people think is "history" really isn't, that's especially true in KDS area where the facts have become so twisted over time that a detailed OOC history could have an impact on current events if the newer players don't abher to the CR.

Silly doesn't enter into it. If your character is inherently curious, maybe they would want to learn about history. My first character has interests that way. But if you use 'Ug the stone-age barbarian' to research ancient history, that's punching a huge hole in the Capital Rule, which is the most important thing in Cantr.

There is no ancient history in cantr. That's the problem. Assuming that Day 1 is when cantr started up (even if days weren't numbered then), the world isn't yet 50 cantr years old. Some characters spawned in the first 100 days are likely still alive. People who know and were directly influenced by them certainly are. There isn't any time period you can realease without totally upsetting someone's worldview. And having a complete picture like that would make it harder to keep OOC fact out of IC reactions.
