Means to me that if you think your character could figure it out (and you know the right answer) they can figure it out. I don't like it at all, which is what that whole topic was about, but that is what was handed down.

You are misunderstanding me, as what I've done is well with in the rule. It is building machines, coming across machines, and investigating what they can do after they're built. Then recording the stats for others to learn from, so they don't need to mess around, ask around, but just see it from my encyclopedia. This surely is not contradictory of Missy's statement as I have read it.

I'm guessing you mean "creating" Your own machines, which I'd be against anyways.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing wooden hand guns, rifles, and shotguns that shot hemitite rounds. 5-10 points stronger than any bow weapon. For uh-uh... strictly hunting perposes... ya-ya that's it :twisted: . But no bombs, cannons, nukes or anything like that. The last thing I want to see while playing Cantr is;

You see a man in his twenties, kill a man in his thirties, a woman in her twenties, a man in his fourties, you, hurt everyone else in the area, and reduce all buildings into scorched raw matterials with a BFW.

I like the health progression from :) to :| then :cry: , not :D to :shock: oh crap I'm DEAD!

And don't try make sense of "How is a wooden gun gonna throw hemi bullets???" I'm still trying to figure out why I can't smoke hemp, and turn my barley and grapes into spirits :? .
I'm not upset, nor do I frown.
I just like to wear my smile upside down.

Wo are having a total communication failure here.

I wasn't saying you were violating any rules. What I was saying was that the ruling didn't protect research of that sort the way I thought it should. You can discover the function of a rope machine by building one and investigating it. But you can also 'discover' it by RPing that your character can figure out what it does :evil: :evil: :evil: . This seriously undermines the function of research...to my mind at least.

Domino, they've said no guns in cantr. I think-

Errrr Industriallist, they actually said you can RP the discovery of what a rope machine does? If so, that's stupid- I didn't remember readin that though. My char discovers stuff by finding machines already built, or building his own.
