Types of characters you'd like to play?

I'd like to be a pearl farmer. I know that sounds odd and uninteresting, but I've always thought it was interesting how they grow and farm them.

I like playing a variety, I like to have some kind of top of the totem pole type, wether benevolent or malevolent,
I like to have some kind of high risk character who by their actions could get in serious trouble.
I like to have someone insanely industrious.
I like to have someone incredibly honest and reliable
and I like to have someone who is just plain wealthy
often I will have more than 1 in some categories and often some chars will be a mix of those categories
cant wait to get back in the game, been away a year and a half.

Never had a proper explorer. I've heard some stories recently that make it sound like some serious fun, though...can't really handle another char right now, but half convinced to make a simmer, get them a raker and a horse and send them off to see the far away parts of the world.

But knowing my luck they'd spawn in the middle of nowhere with a couple sleepy people with bone clubs squatting around a fire pit.

In any event, if I had slots I would want to make a character that purposely lives a humble life with just the clothing on their back, and enough food to get them by, helping their community selflessly with nothing to call their own.I tried to do this once before and they wound up abducted.

What type of character would I like to play?

I'd like to create an order of individuals from nothing and build it up to be fairly active - active enough, even, that an(other) account lapse on my part wouldn't doom them.

Edit: That's not really a type of character, I suppose, but I'd need the right character to get far enough along with it. I've had pirates, princesses, thieves and toughs before. Naval commanders, militia, greedy traders, explorers... But I've never really built something from nothing and had it survive past my character's life.

I'd like to have one pirate character. Just because it would be so different from any of my other characters. I've got one who could possibly do it but its sort of impossible to be a good pirate if you're by yourself.

Goes against her nature though to pick up random people. Maybe day I'll have my pirate.

Well, you can always try signing on with likely-looking ship crews. You're gonna have a hard time finding pirates to play with if you're not willing to take chances.

I have one character who used to be a pirate, but he's trying hard to be a good guy now. He has a lot of treasure on his ship, so if someone offs him, they can just look at all the pretties. Edit: Also pirate-inspired clothing that has never been worn.

Maybe the tides will turn her eventually. But a deep sense of mistrust of just about everybody prevents it. Only way I could feasibly see her becoming one is if she goes to the lesser inhabited islands and pillages them for all they're worth.

Ah yes, the people struggling to get basic infrastructure up and storing whatever materials they can scrounge in wooden carts and unlocked shacks, clearly out of all the people in the game these are the ones it will be the most rewarding to rob.

Edit: pirates that kill are lame. The game needs it players. I liked that one pirate on Treefeather. The one that seduced Synthia, stole her ship and then dumped her. Now that was a story. John Morgan. Was played by Otherside.
