3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are fairly easy to do, with only 3 and 7 requiring some additional work to code usage of fireworks and kite event. i don't like 6, something only for decoration would be better imho. a colossus, totem or idol for example. and "magic" 8-Ball would be nice, could work similar to dice.

The raffle would be require programming if we wanted to automate it. However, for the the sake of simplicity, we could just post an announcement to send an email to enter, and we could draw names out of a hat.

Alternatively, the new survey system logs everyone's responses. We could just start a survey, "Do you wish to enter the 10-year anniversary raffle?" Yes answers would be entered in by hand (could be sorted in excel). It's my idea, so I'm willing to do the legwork.

This is what we have so far. The only thing we've not determined is how many of these we want to give out.

How do this look/feel/sound?

Cantr II's 10-year up-time anniversary is drawing closer.

One of the things that will happen during these celebrations is a raffle where all players may enter. One or more of them will get drawn randomly, and get to choose a miracle, or an accepted suggestion, which will get highest priority.

We will use the in-game survey functionality for you to enter the raffle.

Ground rules for miracle option:

  • it can't harm another player's character (no asteroid crashes)
  • it has to be possible given staff resources (no recoding the whole game)
  • it can't be otherwise detrimental to the game, as defined as something that would lose us players
  • it can be done privately or publicly
  • it is subject to GAB approval

Maybe something that would give you a special emote that comes from the game itself instead of originating from a character? E.g. "1234-5:67 You see <character name> fly his feather kite high up in the air" or whatever.


Updated. Does anyone in RD want to work with ProgD on 3 and 7?

We will also make a tool that allow us to manually create events that can come in handy for these festivities.
