In fair response to that last content post -

People will RP how they RP. There is no specific guideline on assumed, genetic or given knowledge in the game. The wiki is arguable. While its accepted, at least a portion of players would rather it wasn't. The easiest way to RP, is always with the groups demands, rather than as a solo player.

That said, mathematics, weights, directions all seem mostly standard, making the average cantrian more like a synthetic artificial intelligence, than an organic being, given their rather mysterious and interpretable sudden appearance from nothing and massive base of normally inaccessable knowledge and processing without tools of the kind.

Not that this is bad, in fact the science fiction weirdness of cantrian life actually provides a sort of fantasy charm I think :P :D

Try trading 29 grams of steel for 60 kilos of baked potatoes in real life without any scales! :D

I catch more deals trading by mood than I do any other time. I do spend time getting close if I think my char is getting ripped (some are anal about it and its likely not the ones you would expect) . Im also INSANELY generous if I like you. This snubs out BS that I dont want to deal with....Its all about me playing for me. I think people forget this. I have to want to play, and if I do I will bust my butt to make the other char happy. If I dont I will sit for days or a week and not move. Shut me down I will work silently for a year or more. ( I have at least 4 chars doing this right now....but they have plans  ) So many give up too soon. *sighs*

Come on, none of the units of measurement in CantrII are in any way realistic. A day has 8 hours, the times it takes to make things are grossly out of scale, the amounts of things needed for pretty much anything are completely unrelated to the real world, a tractor is faster than a passenger car - nothing makes sense if you look at it this way.

The reason is simple: Time has to tick differently, otherwise we'd have to play our characters in real-world time, 24/7 (and none of them would make it past their thirties). If you change time itself, the rest follows naturally; it has to, otherwise the game isn't balanced anymore and all the fun is gone. Imagine you'd need 1000 grams of potatoes every day to survive, farming any amount would take at least 100 days, and you couldn't carry more than 10 kg - I don't see how anyone would make it through their first few days.

Apart from the skewed scale and the oddities, however, I think the wiki explicitly states that Cantrians are humans; so I just play them as humans and treat units in the game as completely unrelated to real-world units.

As for how they know things: I imagine them to live in this strange universe where all resources are countable (they are: there is no such thing as half a gram of anything in CantrII) and even liquids and poweders can be transported without any container to hold them. In this universe, knowing the quantity of something is 'easy', and I imagine Cantrians to have an exceptional innate talent for eyeballing quantities. The planet they live on has a different topology than ours does, and we don't know anything about the celestial bodies they can observe; there might simply be some extremely bright star or a moon in a geostationary orbit or whatever that provides a fixed point to find North (or rather, West) no matter where you are. On such a planet, I wouldn't find it odd to see how everyone takes West for granted by the time they reach adulthood, just like pretty much every adult human just knows whether it's currently raining. Similar effects would have to exist for time; Cantrians always know the exact universal time, so there must be some totally obvious phenomenon which would tell you the exact time that everyone takes for granted. A bit like day and night and seasons on Earth, only much more precise.

simple about universal time.. cantr is in fact not a planet, it is an 'M Class' moon that takes 8 hours to orbit it's gas giant parent planet, (a bit bigger than jupiter)
the parent planet has very dense white clouds in it's upper atmosphere

this explains why time is universal across all of cantr :)

as for direction, one pole is permanently oriented(locked) towards the planet
or cantriians have the innate compass like migratory birds do ;)

the only oddity that makes this dynamic flawed is....
no matter where you are on cantr.. north is always north and south is always south, it flaws the implied sphericle shape

If you're using a sextant, it will flip as expected when crossing the midpoint.

well.. i guess the sextant supports a polar spherical world but isn't it more of a measure against stars than the shape of the world, the thing i'm referring to is, you could be in klojt, dom hofran, romov, onje, kwor or sjoftich, but north is always the same direction, unlike a true spherical world, there is no place in cantr where every direction is north, or every direction is south.. according to in game map graphic directions, this is something that i recall comming up before in a discussion about the shape of the world lol donut shape etc..
north is always right, south always left, roads in any city in cantr show.
