Cantr is really Riverworld, but the River flooded and now there's just islands in the stream.

Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in-between
How can we go wrong
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah
From one lover to another, ah-ah

It's a great classic lol..........I'm so mean

Comin from afar, reachin for the stars
Run away with me, to another place
We can rely on each other, uh-huh
From one corner, to another, uh-huh

Evolution works in mysterious ways, don't assume reproduction by OUR standards is how it STARTED. It makes more logical sense from both an IC and OOC manner as "spawning" always was... and families are in the "eventually" pile.

I think Dudel said it best.

I don't see a problem with RPing a past provided that it can not affect anyone or location in the game. To say you came from a town that isn't in the game, would be hard to play. To say you came from another island but some how ended up in the desert...again stupid.... moms, dads, they would have to have died in such away that can't affect the game.

Or how you spent a few days in the wilderness, saw some amazing stuff and wandered into town. Like, maybe not too far back but enough of a backstory to get you started. It is a bit hard to do something interesting as a newspawn.

It's a bit hard to do something original. Don't be afraid to use something that you've seen works or "I don't really know..." What you do and how you Rp IG is much more interesting than the back story anyway.

I agree with that, its much more interesting to start a character bland and decide on the go what his/her personality is going to be, and what s/he will going to do, as in contrast having a story/personality already set up when creating.

Totally agree. You can't really force a character. I'll decide on traits before spawning one, but anything else really needs to evolve naturally.

Eh... If my characters DON'T spawn with a personality type of SOME KIND I not only get bored but quickly forget the "point" of the character. Each character gets a vague OOC goal that I'm trying to kinda accomplish, some get it done... some not so much and others... well I forget cause something "cooler" comes along.

I make stuff up as I go, though.

It's slow going though, eh. 4 of my 15 have really found their "spot", but that's taken most of 80 days. The rest risk starvation if they don't find their niche soon.

Spawned 10 characters in total, 7 successes and the ones that ARE DEAD.... their point was to die. Except maybe Aliczander, he was supposed to explore but sailing made me go O.o and I gave up, quickly.
