I am just wondering, about those who work in the RD. Are they allowed to use what they know of the Machins in game or must they "find" it out?

I'm on the RD and I play my chars as not knowing how to make things untill they make it and see for themselves, or are informed of it IC.

The only things I have them instinctively know is what I can see on the various build menus.

Personally I disagree with OOC research, as it is applying non-IC knowledge in game, essentially breaking the capital rule

In away EVERYONE breaks the CR, becuase there new spawned chars tend to know alot like they need food, and having a hamer is a must....and some other random things....

I want to be on RD becuase I love to program and do reaserch that and I can get Credits for working with Cantr (COmputer programing and Research Credits) lol

That's a good point, I'll bear that in mind next time I spawn a new character

that's one of the main problems, what do you know at 20,and what do you not know?

I prefer to play strcitly and assume nothing other than what I see on build menus etc

but I agree, everybody cheats a bit when it comes to this point.
I do it myself a bit  shame on me.

But finding the same thing out 15 times (with each char) is kinda a lot of work lol... but a lot of stuff I pretend not to know.

I'd also like to know to what extent the CR extends to words and phrases. Like if someone said, 'boy, that pursuit was a milkrun,' what are we supposed to think?

Heh, I always thot milkrun meant something easy and done without trouble, especially in bombing someplace or another.

In Context: For today's mission, we'll be taking out targets along the Libyan Coastline, AA targets Alpha and Bravo, then to secondary objective, the unguarded command and control structure, should be a milkrun.

Chars who are played by staff members have to learn things in game just like chars played by everybody else.

EX: My char who lives in a town with iron was asked if he or she was in that town "when Hematite turned up." My char replied, "Who is Hematite?"
