On the other hand, one of my characters did just watch the only person he'd ever met get killed and eaten by lions.

Correction...I now have one dead character. :(

I just had one of my new characters spawn all by herself in a location with 120 or so animals. She's making a run for it, but i don't fancy her chances if i can't find civilisation soon...

I thought things were friendly for newbies in the English zone.

8) I just counted 26 that have died in the 65 years I have played...since day 954.

That's one every 2 1/2 years...

I had that happen to me on my old account. She survived until I quit.

Over 20

But, then, I have always enjoyed spawning steal-and-run thieves, just for the giggles.

Only two in about 3 and half years, both by pirates and recently though. The first was Polish pirates, relentlessly pursued him, there was about seven of them on this raker against just me and a another guy I was giving a lift to. The second was English speaking pirates, they started all nice and chatty and then wham, drag you off and kill you without a word.

Razorlance, 2 in 3 and half years is quite impressive... Do you have few characters, been away from 'confusion' or just lucky?

I've not had many characters, only the ones I started with, in total only 9, mainly because once I had them I didn't want to take on anymore, and when these two died I just kept it at 7. Plus I've never been any good at playing violent or evil characters, so I guess I've just been lucky. :D

I've 23 dead since day 864... almost 92 Cantr years and almost 4 RL years. So a tragedy occurs every 62 days.

An official number of 11. Oldest one have being age 36, killed brutally for "betraying" Blojt.
When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.
As you can see, the Jedi are hypocrites.
