It's not the sort of things it's necessary to find out in-game, and it'd make things a lot easier for those who are used to, say, navigating boats using the current orientation. Otherwise you could lose some kids.

I dont know what you guys are talking about, although the new maps LOOKED different, they were still the same in relation to each other, and the scale is still the same. I have a graphical map that starts in one type of graphics, and switches to another halfway down a path.

I still don't know what the hell you are guys are talking about. The maps never changed unless Jos changed them and he never said he has then again he might never say he did or didn't. He likes to keep secrets about those things.

The maps are the same maps we have always have. At least as far as the old areas. So I still don't know what you guys are talking about. Maybe the maps have always looked that way and you never noticed  .

I meant the orientation of the maps.

You are way wrong man, the maps change like everyday. I suspect that weather has already been implemented. I have something like 4 characters all working on visual maps, and they all noticed that the map changes slightly everyday.

how would weather change the maps?

Oh, and on Mozilla Firefox, I've noticed the maps appear north-up for a split second before rotating. Strange.

OK well I dont know why, but I can say for sure that the maps change slightly everyday. And there have indeed been major changes, several times.

I'm mapping about six different characters travels right now (seperate maps for each char) and have yet to notice any major changes in the maps over the past few weeks.

What I have noticed is the odd colour shift / different "anti-aliasing" around some items (ie, the yellow-ish coast aliases for an extra pixel, or the forest isn't as dark a green etc.)

But I have yet to come across a map That just doesn't fit or seems to be oriented differently.

no they always fit its just sometimes there all less detailed grphicly or have large orange blobs all over them.

My character Sean Lister drew a map and used the images on the location pages as a guideline to make a LOTR style map, but after he finaly got it finished he got killed in Shambon north.
