Browser versus Cantr or other web page slowness is BS.
No browser is slower than any other, other than starting the browser itself. IE, Maxthon (IE based), FireFox and Opera. I use them all.
The browsers all render and execute the pages the same no matter which one I use. This on a P3 450MHZ/160 meg RAM machine.
DO NOT blame the browser. Biggest factors are connection speed and the machine.
Since my AMD 3200 with 1 gig ram up and shitted on me all pages load a bit slower, but still within reason on the P3.
Slow load web pages? Up your connection and or upgrade your hardware.
Previous PC specs:
AMD 3200 (2.2 GHZ)
1 gig RAM
128 Meg video
10/100 lan (6 meg Coamcast)
Now till fix the above:
P3 (450 MHZ)
160 Meg RAM
4 Meg video.
10/100 lan (6 meg Comcast)
Between the AMD 3200 and the P3 I only see maybe 2 seconds longer on web pages on the P3.
And untill I found and swaped my P2 233MHZ with the P3 I dug up (last night) I get the same page speeds between the two.
Like I said "DO NOT blame the browser."
All of the lag is server side.

Delgrad, unless you understand a drop of programming, or memory allocation, do NOT EVER say browser speed is all the same. It is not.

*brushes dust from shirt sleeves*
A drop of experience is worth far more than a drop of programming/ mem allocation.
My primary browser is Maxthon which is built on IE. By all the "stories" I have ever heard IE is a virus magnet.
Guess what? No viruses, root kits or maleware since I started using (three years now) Maxthon.
I am not a fool, nor am I a programmer.
Programming the browsers and experience with the browsers
are two seperate things. I really could not care less about
programming or memory allocation. I am a user that knows
that no single browser is faster than any other. I am the end user
and I have experienced no speed differences between browsers.
Did you program Internet Explorer? Did you program Maxthon?
Did you program FireFox? Did you program Opera?
If yes you are well knowledgable to say what you did.
If not you have no right to say what you did.
No offense meant.
Don't stick your finger out there if you don't want it bit.
You ever tear a car engine apart topside down while engine is still in the car? Then put it all back together and it still work? Ever open the hood of your car and see nothing but the engine block?
I have, but does that make me a better driver than you?
Any speed difference between browsers is negligible. Lag is serverside.
Unless you are me, do NOT EVER...
