Yes. I wish everyone would dampen that in the spirit of roleplay but I guess that's too much to ask.
Whispers sometimes annoy me because I've overheard whispers that are perfectly mundane things that could be said out loud and give people a chance to chip in and make friends. A lot of the time though I just try to respect that these two characters have developed a friendship for many ingame years and I shouldn't just expect to be part of everything they're saying.
MUSH/MUDs often define who can see your actions, whereas on Cantr if you tapdance in a building with a window, everyone outside can "see" your feet. So I usually go by that rule, if a person has specified they are walking far into a field then I don't feel bad about whispering an action to the only other active person around.
As far as the kissy-smoochie goes, if couples act like couples that's sometimes OOC annoying but IC should be acceptable. Sometimes people peck each other on the lips in public or look at each other lovingly, sometimes the person they talk most to is their partner, that's acceptable. Sometimes though a couple will just be involved with each other and any other active people around will be left on their own. That's not so good.
And I'd like to add another one. Dragons. You know who they are because they usually wear jewels and high heeled boots and hold a lot of keys. They wake maybe once a year or less to remind everyone they're in charge and they have the keys. You in your wool tunic live off raw potatoes and you gather resources forever because they just don't trust anyone enough to give them any sort of responsibility, regardless of the time you've spent there making effort trying to roleplay. If you somehow have a crowbar and try to unlock something, they wake up a few days/years later and breathe fire at you. Living in these towns is virtually impossible and one day I shall spawn someone who will slay you all, dragons.
