Nobody really likes to read 30 lines when they log next time, specially not on bloody cellphone

Personally I find 30 lines of shit-talking a lot more entertaining than 30 lines of people using the radio as their personal chatroom for uninteresting things. I like the radio drama, but I wish people would seriously cut back on using it for irrelevant chatter otherwise. If you're going to broadcast something for the whole English-speaking community to hear, you should try to make sure it's something that will be noteworthy to everyone.

True enough. I'd much rather have what we got then a long-distance couple swooning at each other or bored people just making small talk.

I'm gonna miss listening to that guy who snorted on the radio at his "woman". I think at one point he shared his grin with the entire network. If that ain't love.

I'm fine with the long-distance couples thing, I mean...Cantrians don't have the Internet, so what else are they meant to do?

I like this idea!! They basically do this in [a town that shall not be named].
PS. Now I have an IG reason to destroy any radio I see.

That's hardly going to stop every ship, car, or small town that doesn't care, though.

I think it is better for players to have to control or stop things that other players do to annoy them. Some of my characters were actually quite glad about a certain failure of a radio network on an island. In other towns, there are receivers in public buildings but no transmitters except in locked buildings. There are a lot of ways to properly handle this stuff without have Developer Magic involved.

What? No way! It's hard work to spawn. Now give me a car and if you're over 40 you must be rich off the deaths of others, so give me half.

You guys are just being silly. You know that goes both ways, right? "You want to be a citizen here in this town of five people, and store your things in one of out 19 tandem bikes? Sure I can help you there, just need 40 days of work first!"
...is a situation I've seen far, faaar more often than a newspawn demanding one of the town's eight inherited cars.

Oh, trust me, I know it goes both ways. I had a newspawn "thief" murdered by angry townsfolk for picking up a stone hammer and a bone needle once.

Mine was meant to be silly
, but there's also truth behind it. I've seen a lot of entitled new chars lately. And I have experienced both sides. Even recently one of my chars spawned into a sleepy town without any support or interest from others. My char stayed there and has turned out to be a great little entrepreneur so far by not sitting around and whining about the lack of help. I've also seen sleepy town leaders try to hand over leadership and keys to someone else, even announced it on the radio multiple times, and... No one wanted it.

I don't imagine that would be a case of no one wanting it so much as that anyone who wanted it was not in a position to hear the message or reply, or get to there.

I've tried to accept one of those offers and the town leader laughed at me. Had lived in that town for a while too and was the most active member so I ended up asking for a vehicle and leaving instead (to which the town leader surprisingly said yes, guess they wanted me gone
).
