I don't get people complaining about the radio. You can always turn it off... Or change the channel, or leave the room it's in.
That said, I wouldn't mind if the radio networks were severed. It would make being a pirate a lot, lot easier IMO. So if someone were to go around destroying infrastructure, I would be pretty happy. Bring back the dark days of limited communication, kidnappings, and destroyed towns.

That all seems a little dramatic. You realize radio messages don't effect project time. And anyone closerenough to matter would still be in range.
The network being down wouldn't remove tiredness either just FYI.
And abandoning a project or changing the channel is not always an option.

Honestly, I don't think the radio network makes being a pirate that much harder. I mean, sure, you can post warnings, which does...what exactly? I've had warnings put out about me and absolutely nothing came from them. I think most people are too lazy and/or uncoordinated to go pirate-chasing.

All a warning really amounts to is 'if this ship starts docking, lock the harbor'

Yeah, seriously.
I'm not scared of the radio at all. If anything, the drama and reports are a source of amusement.

No...but the player, as has been suggested to you several times before, can filter the radio out in the settings if you can't stand it. If you choose not to do that, then it's your choice to keep 'listening' to it...

I'm just happy the topic is "Can you hear me now?", "Can you hear me now?", ad nauseum...

Even the characters who rely on the radio, turn off the radio activity, and have a radio filter. Just madness otherwise, to see 4 characters light up because someone is asking about the weather (love the weather reportage, btw).
I've stated the radio map often enough over the radio, asked a fellow going to the other network to broadcast it, even asked people to leave a copy in town for people. Guess reading are hard, and that makes me chuffed. Chuffed, I say!

I don't actually hate the radio that much. Even if sometimes I love to hate it. And sometime I love to make others hate it
I feel badly for people who are asleep in front of them when they really blow up. And some characters really do have to read every message to make sure nothing relevant to them was said.
Especially lately when some places aren't picking up every broadcast. Been getting a lot of partial conversations and can't just assume that they char in front of a radio all know the same things.

Just use filters. I use them on all my radio chars to get just the town's events for easy reading. I hate it when people don't read what I said so I'm always careful not to do the same to others.

And we've had a lot of suggestions about limiting radio abuse, but honestly I think the best solution would be a purely IG one--more towns just need to take the transmitter out of the public workshop where the bored unsupervised drones hang out.
