Ice Sisters - my stomach hurt so much from laughing at the end of that epic concert.

Hoooooly crap, all praise possible to the Ice Sisters. I have never laughed so hard while playing this game, and just the RP skill and creativity alone has my applause even before factoring in how TOTALLY METAL it all was. That was a Cantr experience I'll never forget.

More than a real-life year late but I was just poking through my old turn reports and remembered Yury. I knew him through two characters and it was great that he was so wakeful and cheerful ^_^ Hoping he's still around somewhere, though I've a feeling it's not likely.

Just FYI, after that song title got announced I was squealing on MSN about how we'd be getting a Janis Joplin cover. I'm pretty sure I posted this a few pages back, but I'm doing it again: Biin Hejj, omg.

Just seeking some opinions here based on something that was discussed with another player recently. Are there feelings that the praise thread, and others such as the Top 100 thread, are having a negative effect on the game and choking out true RP? I had looked at them as being positive things, but if others feel differently I want to try and understand that viewpoint.

To be honest, I think that there is some sort of indirect negative impact. Sure, I love it when I see that people enjoy my characters, but when they appear here it suddenly feels like all eyes become fixated on that character. And then I get kind of paranoid, like if my character doesn't fit their expectation then I've somehow lost. Clearly it's an illogical train of thought, but that's how I feel. The trend seems to have been that, about a week after people have praised my characters, they fall asleep and it's really hard for me to recover after that.

I really don't think that there's anything wrong with being a simmer. First of all, the simmers provide an environment that is stable enough for regular roleplay to happen. And second, I feel that it's impossible to sim in this game without roleplaying. Being a leader involves so much interaction between characters. Just because it isn't the same type of roleplay that everyone else does, it doesn't mean that it isn't roleplay.

I don't agree at all. Getting praised for what you have done...if someone goes out of their way to compliment your playstyle, it is SO validating. Makes you feel great.

I wanted to give some praise to Marie Alexander in Olipifirovash. She's got a bit of a vibe like a librarian or perhaps that cute little elderly lady that lives just down the street, but there's a sparkle of whit about her, too. Enduring and intriguing. Thanks for making Olip fun!

And Aubergine! First set of chopsticks I really didn't want to use.

Branwen in Jakara. Delightful kind cook lady, and I swear reading her description makes me want to hug her. She's made my character's days nicer than they would be without her there.
