Suicide in that method is incredibly fucking annoying and obnoxious from a player view, though I admit I have done it once before, as well he had an unfair chance in life, and then got insulted, left, then got killed by a random criminal.
What I meant is I wouldn't mind losing 2 of my chars, becuz I can't keep track of them-not to regain new chars.

@ NiTeFyRe, I didn't do what I did to start where I want, or for any other reason, save to see the effect it had from a RP point of view, and as you say he also had an unfair chance in life... I don't intent to ever do it again anyhow, as I am sure it was annoying, but the fact is that in real life you do get madmen. Also, if you did it yourself before, perhaps you can understand my reasoning.
@ berserk9779, the fact is though I am sure not all players would do so to start where they want... I certainly didn't. Perhaps it could be made that you can't suicide until you have had the char for a few days... I just think that the option to kill yourself is not only more realistic, but also adds more depth to the roleplaying aspect... I can well imagine a char pushed to the limit who tragically ends his own life. I also don't like the way that some people just lock another char away for days on end and forget about them until they starve, which is cruel from a characters point of view, and must be annoying itself to the player.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. It is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Only I will remain.

As I say, I'm sure there could be ways around this... having suicide only enabled after, say, a week, or having those who commit suicide not leave bodies behind... I don't know. I just think the benefits of it would be great from a chars point of view... suicide is a powerful expression, and though personally I don't agree with suicide generally, in a land like Cantr which is often harsh and unforgiving, I could see it happen.

I see your point, but i must say, some of my chars started to have a distinct personality of theier own when they tried to get killed. Sometimes i have even wanted to change my mind, but a squadron of angry bastards with sabres is not easy to stop. Expecially when you offer 500g of steel to the guy that kills you (you don't really need to have them, just offer them and you will see how many will put an arrow trough your back for a chance of 500g of steel)

Now that I've lost a couple major chars one of my favorite remaining chars is a guy that became the way he is now because I tried killing him off in a somewhat creative fashion (I had to many chars to handle)...he's been alive for more then 15 years since then because, I guess, no one wanted to chase a maniac into the woods, and now he's to powerful and prepared to be taken out by anything less then a very lucky army.
But they'd have to find him first to even try.

It's a good thing I'm not in the Players Department, huh? Because I'd probably hunt down any player who used the 'let's be obnoxious as hell because i don't want this char anymore' technique. And then introduce my friend Mr. Crowbar to Mr. Their Kneecaps.

*scurries* Ahhhhhh!
I think the most fesible ways to teach these dreadfully annoyin chars is to put them in solitary confinement room inside a prison. Hence the prisoners will be annoyed by the constant knocking, not affecting the townspeople, and teh char would starve to death over a period of how many ever days before the player can make a new char. *villainous grin as he force labours the prisoners to make this new solitary confinement* Bwahahahah!

The problem comes in when you need to do away with a char or chars for some reason. You can email PD and have them removed but that doesn't add anything to the game. You can have them "suicide" but that is just as pointless.
Perssonally I think the best way to kill someone that you need to kill for OOC reasons is to turn the char in a direction that will get them killed by the people around them, therefore adding to the story in that particualr place.
And if you don't think that there is a OOC reason to kill a char then you've never had 20 chars at one time, 6 of which where deeply involved in different govs, a mistake I won't make again.
