That reminds me. I've wondered if there are actually prostitutes in Cantr who make a living from...plying their trade.

I've seen a couple of them who attempted to go into the business but it didn't look like they were very successful.

Sorry to dig the old argument up again, but I've been thinking about this "programmed rape". If there would be no such thing as taking someone by force, then everyone would know that a person claiming that they were raped actually let it happen, the player clicked that accept intercourse project button. Even if it would be just subconscious, the thought is in your heads. That this woman chose her fate. In reality it's possible to abuse someone sexually without causing wounds and bruises, they can be unconscious, drugged, plain paralyzed by fear and so on. Or if the rapist is much stronger or has someone assisting, it's easy to hold a feeble victim down.

I get what you're saying Seko - but this is similar to may other things - it'd work if people would just play along...

If someone wants to RP that they've been raped - I'll go along with it, even though I know that (In reality) They'd have had to decide that their character was raped...

This goes for so many other things in Cantr - we don't need everything programmed in - people need to be more imaginative (And I've ranted about lack of imagination in game a lot in the past), and accepting towards new RP situations...

I am a member of the Pd and I have to state that what you are writing implys that the Players Department goes through and reads everything everyone writes whether it be a public or private conversation. No offence but we have betther things to do then sit there and read over your events pages. I want to let you know that the only time that the Players department looks at anything that you have written is if they have a reason to be keeping an eye on you.

Now I have to be truthful, many of my char's have had sex and I could care less if someone was reading them.. It is one thing for someone to read it ooc but a different if I slip and say something IC where everyone can hear me.. :"> and believe me. I have done that on numerous occasions.

What people do in whispers is between them. Those who choose to have an 'encounter' privately......thier choice. If you slip and say something aloud that you shouldn't..... I'm sure it's nothing I haven't read in a paperback from my local drugstore! Personally, I have said things aloud that should have been whispered, but never anything that would have been seen as inappropriate...

I'm now of the opinion that things like that should never include *movements*, only speech. If you want to have *sex* go in a room or on a road and do it in public (although no-one is there to hear). That does help to limit the embarrassing things said... although it doesn't eliminate them entirely.

Not to mention the fact that I find excessive whispering really annoying.

Oh, and I'm against programmed rape. Cantr has far more important things to deal with first.

I don't disagree with your conclusion, but your reasoning's faulty.

Theoretically, RL hasn't got a thing to do with IC...sex IC should exist or not as follows from the characters, not from the players.

Now, I would contest that cantrians have no business being capable of anything of the kind, seing as their life-cycle runs from spawning (not actively caused by other cantrians), not any sort of sexual reproduction. But (unfortunately, to my mind) the most common and I believe also the official theory is that Cantrians are exactly like humans (or roleplayed humans at least) and Cantr is exactly like the real world in every way that doesn't actually contradict the game's behavior. (Things that do aren't considered problems more often than not... )

Given that dislikable premise, sex in cantr, aggrivating as it is, actually should be there.

Of course, that theory isn't compatable with the apparently popular pastime of whisper-sex... ...
