I'm all for Cantr not being realistic, i just hate additions that hinder gameplay, and fun.

Jos once said there was an ig cure for this, but the gathering of information ig is hopeless with the small numbers involved, plus the activities of RPers who invent additional symptoms/effects.
So apart from such RPers it is simply ignored and suffered, providing very little except irritation.
I assumed the sneezing sickness was an experiment to see how disease would spread in Cantr, but this, too, is mostly ignored, too. (Only small communities can isolate sufferers, and even then it's difficult to know when the symptoms are finally gonee as they only occur every couple of days in some casses.
So, it was a worthwhile experiment, but now it's just nerfing and imho both diseases should bee put to rest.
Any cure to them has come/will come from OOC means via this forum rendering the whole thing pointless.

Likely it'll just be added to the wiki.

The only rumours I've heard are that it has to do with amount of clothing worn (which I doubt, given that my regularly fainting character wears everything but a coat, although ti did 'cure' another one of my characters), and that strength and age are possible factors.

What if it has to do not with how little clothing you wear.

BUT how much you wear and/or how much you are carrying?

I havent thought to note that of my Characters that have felt faint. But many of my Characters often are holding almost as much as they can. And that would logically make one feel faint.

The max weight I can pick up would be around 300 pounds. But if I carried around say 270 pounds ALL the time. I can promise you I would feal faint, or even just fall over.

With that said

If the max weight a Canterian can lift is 15000g and they are often carrying around almost that much it would make them feel faint.

What do you think?
Who wants to be normal...... Normal means you are with the majority.. and I dont want to be with them......

No, I'm pretty sure it's the corpses. There has always been a corpse when I've gotten it, although there may be an incubation period (you might have it from the previous town but if you don't get the "you are feeling a bit faint" message, you would only notice when eating time comes, and by that time you may have moved on from the source). It's only strange when some people report a lonely sailor getting it. Only three of my characters have gotten it, many of them have clothes and the ones who got it were wearing rather many articles of clothing, but not all bundled up or anything, just several. All were over 60 when getting it. I've heard of younger ones getting it. My characters have been around characters who suffer from it, mostly not getting infected. Also one person was in a room with two characters who had it, and a corpse I assume caused it, yet never got ill. Also weight carried in all cases has been low due to having access to boats or a storage room.

I think only one or two of mine were around corpses. Maybe. Most of mine weren't so I don't really believe it is corpses.

Did you search for burial projects? Those can easily be ignored. Only if you were in your building or ship and can say that you haven't killed anyone there, and no one else has had access then you can say for sure that there wasn't a corpse.

Yea, several of mine stay inside where there aren't any corpses. One I know has no burials outside either, because every corpse is buried almost as soon as it hits the ground. Same in another town. One hadn't been around corpses in years at the time it was implemented, I believe.

Oh, and I don't think it's a weight thing, because mine carry a little or a lot, depending on the character.

Is it possibly carried by animals? The Plague was carried in fleas on rats. Do the instances of infection correlate at all with animal population density, specific animals, or perhaps the amount of dung lying around?

Did the isolated sailors that got this have raw dung on their ships?
Do people inside have raw dung in storage?

Players tend to assume that things isolated in other rooms or buildings have no effects outside of their immediate room or building, but I think that's a bad assumption.

In short, bury your dead and don't leave raw animal waste lying around, and then see if things improve.

The one of mine that has it was 22 when they got it, is naked (nearly finished first piece of clothing) and there was one unfinished burial project in the location (which they finished last night). There have been a few animal attacks in the location too. I kno that doesn't solve anything, but it may contribute to the thinkers around here. :P

It may have something to do with the dead, but i don't think it's got anything to do with animal waste, as one of my chars has spent most of their life around raw animal products and hasn't caught it, despite being the only person in the location for the majority.

One of mine got it visiting a town, recovered on the way back home and decided to see if it had anything to do with corpses so he spent several days in a building with corpses but didn't get it. So, he believes it has nothing to do with corpses but some of my other characters still do :)
