I really am all for finding out things IC, also, but I also know that people share info on IRC and OOC which gives their chars a huge advantage over other chars when they figure out things like this.

I saw a char die, seemingly from this illness. That's serious. Perhaps the title should be changed to warn people not to look if they don't want to know.

I've already said it, but a change of this scale is going to be talked about OOC. On these forums or not.

I doubt it is dead bodies, as the only character of mine to have caught it, has not touched or looked at a dead body for a very long time. If it is just the presence of dead bodies, than many many characters would have it...

We already have a tool showing us exactly how many characters are sick.
Click on "time trends" at the public statistics page, then choose sick_chars as type and use 2 as the code.

I'd better stop reading this thread, now. I sense the spoiler coming soon.

I can't access the stats, but I bet it's as common as the sneezes, or it soon will be, as it doesn't appear to rely on person to person transmission....

Its strange that Jos is so tight lipped on this subject when hes so open on every other.

My charrie is feeling faint,
seems slower at projects and
is eating much more.

Hmm, there is one other subject that Jos will not discuss.. :?

My charrie is feeling faint,
has some sort of weakness and
is eating....for two!?!
Yuk yuk yuk.

This is supposed to work like this??? Fourty days of being hungry and eating all your food ... I'm not going to stop talking about it, taking notes about it, thinking of experiments to find the vector for it and otherwise applying every resource I have to discovering everything I can out about this disease.

I suppose the only good thing I have to face is certain death by starvation on day 3727.

That's actually unrelated to the eating bug... just grab 1 extra gram every few days... it'll not give the hungry message and make your hunger meter drop by (3?).

The illness!!

Is it caused by one drawing blood???

???????????????????????????????????

If this gets deleted before you can reply, some of you will know what the disease is, others won't, but..!!!

"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Could it have anything to do with corpses being unburied. It seems some of my characters caught the faintness while some corpses were lying around.

Could be totally wrong. Does not really matter as taking care of corpses has not lifted the faintness. So Even if it were the cause, I am no closer to the solution.

Could someone tell Jos this faintness is no fun at all, apart for people who can watch the game without playing it.

Several people have said they got it but weren't around any corpses for a long time. I know that's the case for one of mine. And yea, it just friggin sucks. So friggin annoying.

It is more than annoying. And not for my chars who are sick. Mostly they do not notice and just go about their lives. But as a player it is infuriating. And I've ooc changed travel plans, career paths, in-game relationships... all based on my ooc hatred of this illness. I'm less interested in playing the chars who eat erratically. Nearly all of them used to travel. One got sick while in mourning. And still nobody cares what the cure is. Isn't it time to end this?

The char i have with the illness has said goodbye to ever achieving anything as they're constantly doing farming/cooking projects to keep up with the amount that they're eating.
