I just started thinking about this: Everybody should think ahead how their character is going to look like when he/she ages, so you won't get stuck looking like a twenty-year-old in your fifties, or worse. Then adjust it based on environmental influence. If the character frowns a lot or smiles a lot, they will get wrinkles in different places, if they're stressed, they might lose their hair more easily, and so on. I just updated the description of my only loner character, even though no one is going to see him until he returns to civilization. I just thought logically, if he's been biking for years with no scissors, he doesn't have time or tools to trim his beard or hair, so they should be pretty long. Also he's always been kinda fat, but in a muscular way. He eats well but also gets a lot of exercise, so it's firm muscles surrounded by firm fat.

Disagree with this. Everyone should play how they want to play, and should have their characters look how they feel/think they should look, as long as it doesn't compromise any rules.

Of course I can't dictate what other people do, but I don't like seeing very old characters with no signs of aging whatsoever.

I fully agree with this. As long as it doesn't try to godmod other characters or break any rule, I dont' see why someone should play/look/whatever in a different way than the player wants it to be regardless what other player thinks about how other people should play their characters.

I remember spawning a woman who already looked like an old woman from the moment of spawning, with my previous account, the description didn't have any precise term such as old but her face was wrinkled, her hair white and she had the general air of what we could call a grandmother out of cantr. The messages about how wrong it was got old pretty quickly.

You presume aging in Cantr works like it does in RL. As far as I'm concerned, your presumption is wrong, not my character descriptions ;)

Characters do not die of old age, therefore, the evidence is clear that Cantr aging is completely different than RL.

What's more, characters only get stronger as they age, never weaker. If anything, aging should only ever make them look fitter, healthier, and generally better looking than newspawns.

And I am sure others don't like people stating how they should make their characters look. :P

If you would have lead with "I don't like seeing this..." and left it at that, it would be one thing, but to say everyone should do X because it is what you like, or don't like...it rarely goes well.

No reason to, we all have things that we wish other players would do, or not do.

And here I was gearing up for the great aging debate! I've been toying with the idea of starting a thread dedicated to how each player views the Cantr world, starting off with an expansive post covering almost all aspects of life in Cantr, from how aging works to things we take for granted such as hair growth and removal of biological waste. Not sure if there would be any interest in such a thread, or if it would just been seen as an "I'm Doug and here are my ideas that I think are awesome but nobody cares" thread.

I think a thread like that would be kind of interesting, actually.

Oh. My. God. Enough already. Characters who "need to go for a walk" annoy me to no end... seriously, your character has 1. never left town, 2. is in the middle of a conversation, 3. has no reason to walk down a random road except to cause drama between whomever they are closest to. Character says no word about which road they're taking, doesn't try to communicate to their family members or significant others why they suddenly for the first time in their entire life, feel a need to randomly ditch your character. Are they angry at your character? Are they trying to make them follow him/her? (If my character chooses this, I have to wait THREE REAL LIFE HOURS to get back to town five seconds after leaving when I pick the wrong road, that is not cool at all.) Are they trying to make your character angry for whatever reason? In the case of a significant other, is this your extremely cowardly and pathetic way of breaking up with the other character? Rather than tell them you don't want to be together you just what, vanish? It's unnatural, people don't just vanish on their loved ones and I can't understand why half of Cantr characters pull this extremely annoying crap on the people they supposedly love. It always irks me, and it always upsets my characters, so then they're no fun to play anymore. Is it so hard to turn to your significant other, or sibling, or best friend and tell them what the hell is wrong? I mean, is it really? I don't get it, and it's the easiest way to lose my interest and my character's interest in your character, it makes me not want to deal with them. So if you're trying to get me to ignore your character, good job, keep it up. If you're trying to get attention, it's not THAT hard, you don't have to run away and waste my time.
