I have one who spawned with 8 expert skills. And one who spawned with 15 novice or awkward skills.

One of mine spawned expert in 8 things too...and two others of mine were awkward-novice in 10 things while another two were in 12
Actually, I think the one with 8 expert skills naturally, started off with 11 or 12 others as either awkward or novice - there was very little that they were just 'average' at. But now they only have 8 skills in the lower range, one of which is shipbuilding, so I can't see them ever getting to expert in everything, though I'd love them to!

I literally keep a spreadsheet of all my living characters' skills and a number system for "average" skill level and improvement and whatnot. Interestingly the character with 10 expert skills ranks lower than the character than my character with 8 but the latter still has two unknown skills that could drag him/her down while all of the former's skills are known. And I have one character whose 21 known skills put him/her below average and is also one of my more fun characters to play.

Just to elaborate on that list I posted, it's a place that doesn't have a huge glut of buildings yet, so several more + storerooms are needed. There's cotton so the farming and tailoring make for a good combo, and the resource mix of the area they're in means forestry gets put to good use. Weapons and tools are of course always handy. And collecting, digging, and refining are at least efficient and those are all nice too.
Maybe it's nothing to really get excited about, but compared to the skill mix on all my others I always feel like I hit the jackpot with this one. And the best part is, they've got two people with them who spawned in the same town, with similar results from the genetic lottery. Hopefully the RNG provides them all with a few more.

Logging in and seeing people emoting *looks at the radio in horror/frowns at it/holds a pillow over ear and whines*.
Most of the time, it's nothing interesting, or worth such reactions, because radio. But every now and then .....

I've got 3 characters now that have gotten interesting. A 4th could've been interesting, but ended up dead instead.

One of mine does an awful lot of grinning at the radio, especially when another townie is away and lighting it up.

This just happened with one of my characters. I finally found a wonderful twist to her personality that fits the dynamic of her character wonderfully. She's a blast.

That giddy feeling when your character finally can touch something they've been wanting for the equivalent of real life years.

Re: Things that thrill or amuse you about Cantr.
So, another trip down memory lane.
Looking through my char list from my first Cantr adventures reminded me of that group in one of the Cantr island forests. They were kidnapping people and forcing them to fight to the death against other captives. It's sad that we don't have that sort of thing anymore, especially since it would be so much better with windows now!
I had a char captured by them and was actually interested to see how he'd fare. He was not so thrilled with the situation, of course. This char was exp/msta so I knew he'd kick ass as a slave fighter, but his personality was so naive and gentle that I was really curious to see how he'd handle being put into the fighting pit. I didn't know if he'd drop his shield and let the other kill him or just crumble and cry after killing his opponent out of desperation to survive. Never got the chance to find out because those meddlers from Siom raided the place before my char was tested.
