I agree. Animal numbers in some places are minimal, scarily so. I was arguing for a cap on total numbers, or as Agar said, a reduction in their violence (would elephants really attack human beings?)The Sociologist wrote:Please do NOT reduce the animal growth rate as there are more than a few areas which are animal-starved and battling to make ends meet. The animal overruns should be capped in some other way.

Out of curiosity, how do you tell the difference? Having people on the road checking for traveling animals?
Yes - I was wandering that as well

I was thinking.. and maybe someone who really understands this game can answer this question. If characters with a lot of food travell around Burgeo and the only thing they did was hunting they would manage to kill them all at some time. Without being hurt themselves right?
Maybe we should have some charries then just walking around hunting in groups of 4, 5 to kill some burgeo animals. Or is this not going to work?

Well, theoretically, you can be attacked while walking on the road. I've never had it happen to one of my charries, but I think it can.

Was recently assaulted by a deer on the road, kind of in a twisted reverse of Sunni's recent experience.
To successfully bring the animal population of Burgeo under control would take 8-10 active people with crossbows, kilos of grapes or better, lots of smoked meat, and bikes.
And that would still take years in game.

Its like a war there, humans vs animals most of the towns animals controlls while two or three humans are really safe at. Not many buildings either.

The irony is that everyone on Burgeo shoots the animals on the roads, which means they are wounded and then stay at the next location they come into. The Cantrians themselves are responsible for making their plight worse by stacking up wounded animals in the locations. My character is as guilty as any. Oddly, he was never attacked until he started hunting there; he didn't hunt the first 5 years he was on the island. I know the ProgD will say it's a coincidence and that there is no "revenge" coded into the animals, but I'll never be convinced.
