You know mentioning psychiatrists and alchemists?

I have a doctor whose love died long ago of a madness, and he seeks to find some mixture that will 'awaken her from the eternal sleep'. He also saw a procedure where a man chiseled a hole into the afflicted's skull, so as to let demons and bad spirits out. He would have tried it on a man who spoke funny in another town, but after he recieved the screwdriver to do it with, I ended up away from my computer for a few days. I think he will continue to experiment with 'potions'... Maybe he'll go from being a doctor to being a witch doctor. And if he had the opportunity to do a 'chisellation' to another madman or person who spoke funny, he probably would.
He thinks resin, milk, and water ought to do something together, and it looks like he might teach younger folks how to become 'doctors' too, someday.

Imagine the chisellation as an approved and accepted surgical procedure... Imagine all the strange-talking ones who would have a hole in their head.
1099-5: Bandit says: "Collect a sum of 100 000g of sand to offer me in tribute or I will kill you."

I've noticed if you're just a bit patient you can get away with a lot. Most theives run straight in and out of buildings in one session, but do it slowly over a couple of weeks... patience luke.

Also a few of my charrs have a real drive, but keep it hidden and dont voice it as i've noticed some players get a bit upset about people trying to achieve whilst still in their twenties....

"999-9: You say "i really want take over this town and run things my way"

"999-9: A man in his thirties attacks you with a steel sabre causing 44% damage."

I had a charrie witness that procedure, if it's the same one. I think he almost threw up. And, unfortunately, the gruesome procedure did not work. I think Seko can answer to that, if my memory serves me right.

I have a character who is a doctor, who trained under the reknowned Dr. Singh. Mine specializes, or did when he was practicing more consistently, in pshychiatry, or diseases of the brain. He even had a few successes, though he never has found a consistent viable cure for the sleeping sickness, much to his sadness. (The potatoe cure just doesn't work for everything *sighs*)

I’ve said it before, and I still believe this here, there is never will be a legitamit market for sex in Cantr because in Cantr people don’t need to have sex, therefore there would be no reason to have it, and therefore no reason for it to feel good, or even be possible. The only reason there are romances between characters is because the player wants to get turned on and get it off with themselves, which can be done anywhere. I believe Cantr does not need to be able to turn people on.

On religious zealots, there is not yet a place for them either, the reason for this being the absence of concrete religions for them to be zealous about. Every “religious zealot” is always just a guy saying

“ “God”(or Bungo the Devine Clown or whoever the hell they make up) wants me to be king of the world. Follow me or burn in hell!”

Before we can have rigid religion or anything like that, we first have to have normal religions, ones that rather than immediately getting all preachy, actually explain things. Religions exist to explain things. First, you have to explain things. Then you can interpret the explanations.

Why is the world here? How was it created? Where do humans come from? Why? Where do the plants come from? And so on. (These explanations should come from and incorporate things that apply to the character, for example, don’t have a tiger god if the character has never seen a tiger.)

I’ve been saying this forever. Nobody listens to my infinite wisdom, though. I can’t imagine why.

Thetaris Elandor was a doctor. He investigated a few deaths relating to hematite. I now realise someone had murdered the people...

There 1 piece of evidence that strongly suggests that Cantrians have all the bits but are just sterile:

-There are males and females. If there were no sex organs, there would only be one non-gender. If there are sex organs, Cantrians can have sex. In the real world, no one needs to have sex unless they want a child, and I would say that 99% of all sex, in that context, is needless sex, so your argument is pretty thin.

Yeah I'm guessing it hasn't been repeated yet. But I'm pretty sure InsaneIrony's character was inside when it happened and only heard out about it later. People tend to adopt memories from other people's telling and think of them as their own.

I'd like to see some rich people who sponsor the arts. Although I'd guess there are some already, they're just quiet about it or nowhere near me.

I just got a return on patroning a mapmaker. I think I've seen or done almost everything mentioned on this topic (besides a criminal in riddles, though I've seen it for non-criminals).

You know, this topic was just above "How did your chars die?" when I say it, and I miss read it as "Chars you love to see die"...

And on that note... Goldenmoon, Bremen Trevenor, most of Siom and the whole of the KDS region.

Oh, and those Barons. Like cockroaches...

Oh and Karnon. I have yet to see or hear of anything about Karnon that inspires me to go there...

I suppose this post is more "Chars you don't like to see"...

Meh, same difference :P

 Methinks this is a whole new thread altogether :P or actually not, because I think there's a thread or two for chars you despise/hate/can't stand/whatever...

I wanted to bump this thread because all the talk about doctors and psychiatrist kind of inspired me, I'm thinking I'll do that with my next character if any of mine ever die, but right now ten is almost more than I can handle.

To put in my two cents, I'd like to see more professions that don't depend on working, period. What I mean are ones not coverved by the way the game works, like farmer, trader, manufactorer, whatever, but instead doctors or artists or writers, or anything else a player could come up with. You maybe wouldn't see this in a little town, but a big city should be able to support a few freeloaders just like in real life. And in CAntr especially, I could see paying someone just for livening up a boring town with some good RP. :)
