Handstones... you need no high-tech to grind grains, just two stones and muscle power.

raw food... Tsss cant imagine why people are still eating that when you got plenty of meat to cook or smoke or dry.

Or are all the animals already hunted down in the more populated islands?

To me the animals seem inexaustible...

Drying meat is not much known...maybe because the rack can't be built anymore or something...

As for the others, they all require some valuable good that cannot be found in most areas. Wood, usually. It isn't meat that's the problem...

Also, of course, there's the fact that until this change there's not much reason to ever want to cook food instead of collecting raw foods at rates as high as 11 days eating in one day...

I like this idea. It's kind of alarming how it shifts yet another valuable resource towards the forests, though. And makes them even less likely to import food, since it will weigh more.

yep, i was thinking about importing cheap food into our forrest village although smoking meat is no problem when you have more then enough wood. But when other food gets heavier, importing food becomes useless its in quanteties of like 100 kilos or more at the same time with a car.

This change could in this way make forest villages more competive than before, but i am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing....

I hope the programmers did some proper calculations if changing the food rates, because the rates at which different foods compare are very strange right now.

for example how many people have ever made more than 1 pancake?

This is terrible. It makes it so only rich people with vehicles or cooking equipment can trave over any of the many barren regions. I really dislike this.

I really think that one of the people this hurts the most is the travelling traders. Most traders don't seem to have vehicles, they have to make do with what they can carry in two hands. And now they'll have to carry more food and less in trade goods.

I'm rather with HF on this one. Don't make current foods less nutritious - most of them are quite well balanced - make new ways to cook raw foods that makes cooked food more attractive. For example, baked potatos could take up less space than raw potatos.

If you're going to fix a food, fix fish - I've yet to see a single fisherman because the gather rate is so low, even WITH tools. Can't we get a fishing net or something? Or go fishing from boats for some tuna? Eh? EH??

Hence having to work that little bit harder to make food. If they have initiative, they wont be affected much.

Anyway, it's an okay idea. In one sense, it sucks, in another, it dont. We shall see though. Most of my chars wont be affected much, except 3, maybe.

All in all, seems okay.

...

Your point being? Unless you have training or a vehicle, I reckon you would not make it far across the barren places in real life.

ANyway, as things stand the only benefit to cooked foods is their weight. They take longer to make, are more expensive, and are frequently less efficient than regular foods... this just capitalises on that fact. And you can still carry 75 days worth of potatoes (most likely)... which is a ridiculous amount.

I don't understand what the complaint actually is...

No, see, they are trying to trade. They don't need to be sitting around, burning off their valuable trading wood and time while sitting and cooking meat.

I figure they'll mostly just carry the extra carrots, and cope with the fact that it weighs more. Trading profits are very thin if you're paying for high cost manufactured food.

Or you could just be like my trader and trade for food. I don't waste my time with anything other than trading and making my bows to sell, including gathering food.

Or don't trade all by yourself.

I follow HF on this, as it raises an unnecessary impact on the current Cantr situation. By leaving the regular foods alone and scaling down the amount of processed food you need to survive per day, it is messing less with the system, creating less further issues. I know people take time to plan their characters lives, to some extent, and this raises a contingency that should not otherwise arise, and could be avoided altogether. A fair compromise for improving current processed foods+new ones, and leaving the regular foods alone, would be to decrease the maximum capacity of characters to 12 kg instead. This will also encourage urbanization and mechinization, two goals seemingly on the society build up list.

I like this idea, but... There is still to low animal in polish zone (there was a bug which caused that animals didn't reproduced in polish locations)

But I suppose that this change means that all current food supplies will have less walue after this change. Am I right? And is it OK, to use this knowledge about this change while buying/selling food right now?

And I'm folowing HF with his suggestion would be better to make game less complicated then more complicated. So, lets make processed food faster to produce and/or more nutritious. And make more types of prepared foods like cooked potatoes, cooked rice, cooked carrots, and so on. It could be even good with making chars to carry a bit less like nitefyre suggested. Or, make this in your way, but then allow chars to carry a bit more, like 20 kg (and plain bikes should then carry little more too)

One thing is very bad in current system for sure. Raw carrots are more nutritious than bread. And raw spinage almost as good as bread. So, something could be balanced. But with no cost of game playability. Please think about all those poor newspawn traveling traders.
