The following are features of my characters and should not be taken as those of the player.
I have a male character who's very masculine and chauvinistic and believes women are frail flowers that need protection and are on some levels lower than men, controlled by their emotions and thus often not very wise. He hides his emotions well, never cries, has almost forgotten how to smile, may lose his temper under provocation but this is very rare. Has admitted to himself once that having a male companion might be better than no companion at all but has only shown attraction towards women. Is mainly attracted by pretty faces and bodies.
I have a male character who's really not so masculine but terribly chauvinistic and believes there are two types of women: the independant, which are often a pain in the neck in thinking they are as good as men, and the quiet, obedient ones which he considers "good" women. Surprisingly he tends to fall mostly for the women in the first category, which is causing him emotional pain and frustration. A strong woman is a challenge giving great joy of success when finally defeated, but he has come to notice that it's usually the woman who beats him - a fact which has sometimes made him curse the whole damn gender. Women who are ready to obey at once he finds boring, might accept them as slaves but nothing more. Is ready to give the world to charm and please the woman he's set his eyes on but expects respect and eventual submission in return. Mostly attracted by character, but concerning physical attributes he appriciates the backside more than front, if you know what I mean. Might be interested in males in the buddy sense, refusing to admit anything else.
I have a male character who's pretty much gender neutral and basically believes in equality of sexes. He hasn't been very interested in women and finds himself nervous when having a crush on one. In fact he's as often interested in other males and feels more comfortable in their company. With men he's a bit flirty and more outgoing, with women he's silent and hesitant. He often holds the "sorry that I excist" attitude and accepts disappointment silently, gathering bad things inside of him and incubating them for long, in the end leading to a burst. Pessimistic nature. His love is of casual kind, he'll give others what they need and expect no payment. Sometimes needy, making himself pitiable to let women know he couldn't survive without them. In other times fighting against them like a teen running away from home, telling himself they're nothing but a heartache, always betraying him.
I have a male character who's rather feminine and... I'm not so sure about his alignment. In friendship he doesn't make any difference between men and women but in sexual sense he's only been interested in women. He's mainly attracted to breasts and pretty smiles. Might give girls some gifts and likes to help around but is a bit unreliable and forgetful. Sometimes setting women in a higher, mother-like status, sometimes he's protective (older brother or knight in shining armor type) and sometimes playful. He's very emotional, laughs and cries easily, gets very mad sometimes and so on.
And the list goes on but I'm too tired to write more...

I have nine female charries, and six male. I find it easy and fun to play the male characters, trying to think how a guy would think. It's a challenge sometimes, but I think I pull it off pretty good. I imagine they're maybe too soft sometimes, but it's hard to click off the female brain completely.
I agree with you about less sexism. And I have 7 females and 5 males. I don't find it hard to play a male very often, and as you said, try to think how a guy would think. I don't think it should make a difference, but I would be interested to know via PM if someone thinks they have guessed either a character of mine or a male character of mine is played by me--simply because I think I do a decent job

I create all females. I just can't imagine trying to play the roll of a male. *looks over at her BF who sits starring into the screen of another pc with a blank look*
I do try to get into his head though sometimes - and what do i see?
?
*smiles*
Most, if not all of my characters have some actual aspects of my own personality, and none of them have all.

Don't make me post the same thing again pretty people...
Thankfully more girls have said they're prepared to play male characters than guys said they played female ones... But still - why all this 'what's a guy's brain like?' - someone's personality in real life as in Cantr is determined by a lot more than what they have between their legs.
As for relationships - why not hook up with another guy and play it how you usu...
ah, ferget it
*slides off of his high horse*
