I want to apologize to everyone.. I have not meant to be gone as long as I have.. I lost my internet connection months ago and have been fighting to get it back.. I am right now on AOL.. Not what I am used to, but atleast I am here for the time being.. I am not planning on going anywhere anytime soon..

I have however updated the list from what I have received through PM's.. If there are other names and such that someone would like to have on the list, then please PM them to me..

Please note, that I have learned through experience that people knowing who you play doesn't always turn out for the best.. I have made friends and lost them because of revealing my chars and getting too involved in what others might think if I played them a certain way.. Of course that was some time ago.. I don't talk to many of my friends, but when I do, I don't talk about cantr.. Please excuse my babbling, but I just want to warn you of the consequences of sharing your chars that are alive.. If you aren't careful, bad things can and will happen..

I have thought about getting this topic erased, and am still thinking of doing so now.. Anyone wanting to comment on why or why not they think this topic shoud remain open or get erased, I would love to hear what everyone is thinking..

Again, sorry for the babbling, and I am back..

wb Mikki - Good to see you posting again

I think the topic should be left , but then again I don't publish my characters names so I'm probably being hypocritical . There are always those who want to let others know and those who don't , as long as people realise disclosure is not always best , then let them post .

Exactly. This is what I was thinking after you posted, Mikki... only I was too tired to translate it into a post. May as well leave it for those that want it; the ones that don't want to publish their chars won't.

In my experience, it is often those that are really good/serious rp'ers who choose not to disclose their characters names.

I have to agree with Mikki, that knowing who is behind a character can often influence a characters actions, whether you want it to or even realize it or not. I also have seen far too many incidents where this has caused problems between players, and many of them recent. I have never liked this thread for those reasons, not to mention the ability of those who like to set up large powerful organizations being able to do so ooc'ly if they have little integrity.

That being said, though I would support this thread disappearing, and encouraging everyone to keep their characters a secret unto themselves, I will not push it.

Oh, and welcome back, Mikki! :)

I agree with oasis, one of my charris got in real trouble because i played a different charri, having people know who your charris are is not a good idea

I was gone for a good amount of time, but I was lucky that my chars didn't die.. I have a few new ones, and if anyone can figure them out then I am happy for you.. I am not going to however admit who it is that I play.. Any more comments on whether this topic should go or stay? Cause right now there are more people against it being here..

Keep it. If someone wants theirs removed, they can always ask.

From what I could make of the posts (HF and Crosshair's posts don't seem to really indicate anything to me), there were 3 for and 3 against that voiced it here... and with Stan that makes it 4 for and 3 against...

Some people are going to want to shout out who their chars are, and post them anyway... that's why that one thread was started anyway... May as well leave it for those who want to do that and let the ones that don't ignore it... *shrugs* I think the choice should be there, whether I agree with telling the Cantr world who you play or not... It won't stop anything really...

*comes and finally posts*

well, knowing someone's dead chars can't hurt nothin, and from the start of this topic it was mentioned that Mikki went through all of the posts meaning the information was already made public before this list was made so, like stan said, i see no reason to get rid of it and if somoene wanted thier char secret either they never would/should have posted thier char to begin with or, could request thier removal from the list.
