Hmm,

I think i could not express myself as it sholud be...

And i really did not understand why the argument grove in the COPYRIGHT route only... :?

I will scan my paintings and put them in notes for my artist charecters...

My question is will it change a lot, as he sees the CANTR world from his eyes, he draws a male charecter in his twenties but maybe it will look totally different than others think... So his real picture will be a surreal one...

I mean will he draw the pictures of his imagination or the real CANTR world....

I will not use someonelses paintings...

It would probably be best to get some idea of what the person looks like from the player. I've tried to do this in subtle ways before but it hasn't worked well so, if I were you, I would have a whispered OOC conversation with the player and ask him/her to describe the char. If you know who the player is you could do it through PMs.

I personally don't like the visual representation of things in the world of Cantr.
For the simple fact that if you draw a picture, and then things like game-created descriptions of characters are introduced, more likely than not your depiction will not be accurate.

But its how the artist sees it not how it actualy is, so that shouldn't matter.

I actually agree with the cookie

artistry isn't about 'faithful' representation...

I still wait for new opinions... Keep feeding this thread i guess it is important.

Yeah but real artists don't have to worry about OOC influence.
If I saw a picture in Cantr that I thought had no OOC influence, I'd like it. But good luck doing that.

But can we say that everything is IC in CANTR of course our charecters are influnced from OOC, even Cantrians body is like homo sapiens, or they can talk about Kapitalism or Marxism are not they influenced from OOC, or a van is a vehicle of our world, so the art will also be influenced, the thing is the dose.

Let see how it will look like in the end...

And isn't even the concept of art an OOC thing?

If you're gonna head down that route - isn't the concept of anything not hard-coded an OOC thing?

*nods*

Language is an ooc concept isn't it? They haven't developed in Cantr, but have been imported.

Just to show the problems of defining IC and OOC on some occasions...

Speaking of this, I got an image of a female character uploaded into Cantr today. An artist's interpretation of the world around them is their artwork, and I don't see anything wrong with interpreting characters the way the artist character chooses to- unless free speech and art is banned in that specific Cantr society. Otherwise, I suggest people to stop putting OOC measures on IC RP/socities/oppurtunities unless of course, the case in question is using obvious OOC artwork (i.e. from famous IRL artists or movies or cartoons, etc).

I'm not looking forward to getting bogged down in some debate about artwork, as it does seem to be one of those grey areas in Cantr.
