How would you prefer item deterioration to work?

It would have to be a machine.

You can't really take apart a sabre...

You know, you might cut off your hands...

well, if you had the tools to build a sabre, theoritically you could take it apart.

You use a hammer to put it together...

I think once you smash it in, smashing it out would be very hard to do...
