I like the day change set for the same time every RL day. also my charries ...(when they were alive)*crys at the loss of ALL of them* never noticed night or day differences, Sun or moons, does Cantr have them? Not that my charries have (had) ever noticed although they have heard of others speak of the sun....

1 Cantr minute is = to 5 real life minutes. Hope that helps the confusion a little bit. Also I wasn't happy about the 25 hour day thing at first, but now it really doesn't matter to me. I just do what I always do when I run out of minutes. *points down to the bottom part of her sig* :D

a day without cantr, is a day spent in bed convulsing and suffering from withdrawl

Ok I have only been playing about a month and at first this did not bother me. Now as my characters progress and start to travel and fight and work long projects and do all the things that get them tired I am becoming concerned. The slow tiredness recovery and the longer day leads to an even longer recovery and tends to slow down the game play. I am not the greatest role-player and only have 3 or 4 characters that have lives that are interesting enough to keep me checking in on them through out the day. The rest might get there but when they are stuck on the road for a RL week (ok 5-6 days) and that is slowly getting longer it just bites. If this change was to rotate the time of day in cantr in relation to RL why not make it a 23 hour day slow that the days pass a little faster and while tiredness recovery will not improve it will at least seem faster.

I still don't know why the programming department decided
a 25 hour day is a good thing.

Can anyone answer this?

Well I suppose it is easier on the servers than a 24hr day. I am not sure whether it is a significant difference or not.

It was never really 'decided' as such. The idea always was: 5 rl minutes is 1 Cantr minute; and then all the above numbers ... and that should add up to 24 hours (real life) for one Cantr day. That is how it used to work and how it was decided. Then I changed the way the clock is progressed - it is now programmed in a completely different way. This has some technical advantages. This new clock, however, is just very slightly 'off'. I never really thought about this - that is, I knew it, but I thought it would be so slight that you won't notice. I never expected this much deviation on a daily basis.

Now that this happened, I started thinking about it and talked about it with Thomas and we decided that this is perhaps only fair - that now turn changes and especially the daily ones, slowly move over the day (every day they happen a little later), so that nobody has specific advantages due to living in a certain timezone. So this is more fair for our international player base.

Besides, it is kind of complicated to repair, and I consider it a *very* minor issue ...

To be fair, it is... But that's not enough to stop me moaning about it. :D

Actually, even though you wouldn't expect it, the *real* reason is that we decided that it can be considered a feature rather than a bug ;) ...
