I honestly don't think I was ever bored with cantr when starting out. Probably because I had read and reread every scrap of written info and worked up a lot of anticipation before I decided I actually had enough time to play. It also gave me something of a more accurate image of the game than most new players have.

www.pbm.com

...and go to Greg Lindahl's PB(E)M list.

I find almost ALL the games I play over there. It's really huge with thousands of games listed with a short description. (OK there are a lot of dead games listed as well - you have to check the date of the listing).

Found it in the Unilang forums, because Jos posted a message there. Unilang is a community of language freaks.
Even though I've always been very interested in society, politics, history and the like, I had never played a society-simulator up till then (also no RPG unless you would count the likes of Exile and Albion), and I must admit that the idea that intrigued me the most at first was to be able to practise languages ;-)

I got here because my computer stunk. I was searching desperately for a "free browser-based rpg" because I couldn't play anything else...

I think that was a couple years ago...

There was an article? And we were game of the month? Can you link to the article and where it says we were game of the month? This is the first I have heard of it.

That's the best I can do I'm afraid. I can't find the srticle thing I was referring to, but there is the 'Mark of Approval'- effectively a game of the month thing.

After some further digging I uncovered the original link I went to:
www.gamewyrd.com/echoes/news_14.php
So there you go. It's the 3/4 lines at the bottom...

Bizarre that that was enough to get me to join. Or maybe not so bizarre...

Oh wait, we are talking about Cantr the game and not CANTR as in Citizens Against Toll Roads. I mean I thought that is what this was all about. Now I know why people are always talking about other people and stuff. And to think that I have on the Cantr forums for 2 years now and I have just realized this.

Lass told me about this great little game she was playing, and the addiction began.

Hahaha... I forgot about the Toll road people. I was watching the news and heard about a game that was destroying peoples lives, so of course my interest was peaked, and I had just bought my computer, so I tried to find the game that was on the news, couldn't find it, started looking for other RPG games, read through hundreds of advertisements, and Cantrs was the best.

Yes, I was under the impression that this was about the game. As are most people, I think. Thats why the poll options are all RPG lists.
