Um....

I agree with Lass, all I need is an excuse for a vacation and off I go.
Well... It used to be like that. Now I need a few more projects for cash and I'm good to go. :?
(Checks his bank accaount for last projects bonus.... nope... not yet). :(

@ Pirog: Are you trying to make enemies here? The Cantr community isnt exactly the prototype of "standard" people.

I'd use it on a trip to Tokyo. Where's Anthony? :D That'd be nice to have that much money, though...

I'm right here, but really, I'd be THERE - In TOKYO! That's where I want to live and retire... find a nice secluted place in the mountians, where there's a small valley, build my house -in- the side of the mountain, and make the valley my lake/spa... ohh, what a wonderful life. It would have to be a lower mountian, I don't want there to be ice all around me, and it needs to be warm...

As for a convention, I wouldn't have the money to go. Even if I did, I wouldn't go to CHIGACO! HAHAHAHA! Oh my god, yeah right, like I'd ever step foot in the United States. I'd rather enter some unknown country and be mugged, tortured, and killed than cross the Canadian/United States border. You people crack me up.

I don't know how people here are...it is hard to judge people by how they write sometimes. Apart from the republicans people seem pretty normal. And to be fair republicans aren't really abnormal...they are just evil

Perhaps I'm just trying to push the image of myself as cool

I'm not sure I understand. If you've never been to the States how would you know whether or not you would want to come here?

I was talking about the border. Ever since "You know when" the borders are hell to cross, and I was making a comment on how I'd rather not cross them at all, it'll save me 10 hours of my day...

If you avoid the border at rush hour (5:00) then you'll be fine. If there's a convention going on in either Detroit or Ontario, forget about it, there is no getting across in less than a thousand hours. It is stricter then it used be due to September 11, but it's not so bad if you catch it other then the times I mentioned.

Yay for Finland.
(During midsummernight). :D

And yeah. The US border is hell to cross. Damn assholes at customs and immigration treaded us as criminals beforehand. Immigration even ;et us wait for 1.5 hours. Just to check our passports and stamp it. Instead, they were busy chatting and joking around.

England? The British border police is even less welcoming than the American one, if that's possible. And that for people from the EU, who should be treated like citizens, since the Schengen treaty.

(don't mind me, I'm still sore that my school class missed half a day of sight-seeing in a 4-day stay because some idiots thought they had to check each of our luggage pieces and the bus itself with drug dogs)

Honestly, I think a convention would be a great idea. I was at the first Unilang meeting and it was a lot of fun. That being said, it might be difficult to find a good place and enough people who can go there. Perhaps it would help to start a list of people who'd like to attend and their approximate locations, so that we can see whether there are many within driving distance to each other...
Oh and don't forget to mention if you travel somewhere soon... that way we were able to invite a Spanish girl and a Malaysian boy for the Unilang meeting in Cologne.

Yay, seems like I'm not the only Finn in here anymore...
You know what, I'm going to England damn when was it, some time next spring, late April I think. With school, but I should guess there's some free time too. Jikes, I've never been abroad before. *Curls up and dies in terror.*

It's not too long ago I heard on a forum that some English people really hate foreigners. That some EF youngsters had gone to the beach and were attacked by a gang of local men who didn't like outlandish people. And the victims weren't even of different race, they were Italian and French. Two died and five ended up in hospital.

The person who first wrote this was married to a man whose brother had been on that trip, but avoided the assault because he chose to go the cinema instead.

I couldn't find any solid proof that she was telling the truth, but I can't see why anyone would make up a thing like that.

England is not part of the treaty ;) ...

Anyway, I like the idea of trying to list geographic locations. We can plot them on a map and deduce good locations from that :) ...

Unfortunately, it's likely to be in the US in that case, and I'll definitely won't be able to pay for that, if the convention is anytime soon. I guess it's smarter to have smaller more local conventions. E.g. one in the Netherlands for peopl e from Europe; one on the American westcoast, one in the east, etc.

But the list is a smart idea :)
