Most of mine would probably believe in some sort of god and an afterlife. They don't pray or anything (at least not so everyone can hear it), or even talk about it, because no one asks. None of them belong to any of the organized religions, though.

There is a religion only practiced by one of my characters called Cromism, but he's just started it in an unpopulated swamp. Yup Jack the Barbarian.

I'm suprised noone has used religion as a tool to controll minds and excuse political moves. I intend to change that...

If you call it a 'religion' it tends to get shot down, I think. Cantrians tend to know that the world isn't controlled by a 'higher power'...
Works fine if you make empty moral arguments, but don't mention religion

Hmm... The Church of Klug is sorta empty now since all the priests are dead, but some people still follow it, still try to keep it alive.

One of my chars started the whole Four Spirits things, and still believes it... They don't call it a church though.

And Vitzy of Sheep thinks the Unnamed Ones are/were sheep... Actually, she just thinks sheep made the world, etc.

Most people IRL knows that there is no higher power controlling everything either and it doesn't keep them from having faith.

Really Pirog? Then what exactly do they have faith in?
"Religion", to the best of my understanding, is the belief in and/or worship of higher beings of some sort.

I'm not devout at all...and that definetly impacts cantr in the same way as I don't think a far amount of the cantr players are. Also cantr is a society simulator, but it's not precise, and instead some cantrians have different "beliefs" such as in spawning and the such.

And please don't give me a list of people and how pious they are-

My Aki island char has a superstitious religion about a warrior god named Aki...

you can see the old "Fear Aki the Powerful" notes around some places.

My Olip. area char. believes in He-Who-Is-Without (of the Book of the Beginning) but as far as I know he's the only one.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

Religion today is just as much about traditions and an ethic code than actually believing in god. In Sweden we even have priests saying that they doubt there is a god.

And of those who believe in a god I suspect only a few believe it is an active god, intervening in peoples lives.
(Note though, that the sheer amount of people leaves all sides of religion with a huge amount of followers)

This is a bit out of subject but I believe in God. I've done so all my life, and He is definately an active God. Once not very long ago I prayed, I said please fix things up, fix everything or I can't take it anymore. The next day that missing medical report thing got solved (told in the Real life screwups) and I got approval letter to school. And this isn't the first time my prayers have been answered. The first one I can remember is from a summer camp when I was... I can't remember, some age between 8 and 11. I prayed that adults there should pay more attention to the kids and their feelings.. And I definately didn't say it out loud. Well the next day the camp leader had just come up with this same thought, and said it publicly, maybe even with the same words I had used, I cannot remember anymore. You may call this a coincidence, but I call it God's work. Try praying some day. Though it doesn't always work the way you thought it would, for example if you're with a wrong guy and pray God for make him stay with you forever, God may separate you because He knows living together with that person would be a disaster.

I have gotten many prayers answered and consider myself very blessed. I don't have much. I have my good health and my kids and my husband is healthy so I'm very greatful.

I have always loved and praised God since as long as I can remember. My first pray that I learned to say every night was the Our Father. It really didn't mean much to me and I didn't even say all the words right but when I came to the part where I would ask God to bless everyone it made me feel really good. I don't attend church, but I still pray and worship God. I don't need a church to teach me how to love my God because my love for him could not get any deeper. Anyways...

This may not seem like much, but when I was a little girl and I would do something to get myself in trouble I would always pray not to get a spanky and I wouldn't. Sometimes I felt like I deserved a spanky so I would pray for me to get one, but not a serious one, maybe a few pats on my bottom and he always answered my prayers. I can count on one hand how many times I got a spanky.

Here's 1 more examples of the power of prayer. My mom gave me $20 dollars to give to my grandmother. I stuck the 20 in my pocket, jumped on my bike and went on my way. When I got to my grandmother's house I noticed the 20 was gone. My mother was so upset with me so that night I prayed about it. It rained all that night but I still kept my faith and hoped I would find the money somewhere. Well, I was riding down the street on my bike. I was coming back from a friends house and when I got to the corner (I don't know how I seen it way in the ditch) there it was. It wasn't wet and it was still folded up and the wierdest thing about it was alot of guys hang on that corner! I couldn't believe no one saw it.

I would give you guys more but I know by now you guys are tired of reading about Sparkle's life with God. I love him and I could go on forever but I'll stop here.

Sparkle signing out.......for now. :D
