Oh man, that would be such a great idea for a troll character. :D Just hang out in Pok or wherever and freak right the hell out every. single. time. a sleeper drops dead. Count out every chest compression outloud while attempting CPR, now and then scream out 'LIVE, damn you, LIIIIVVVE' or 'They were so young....Why God WHHHYYYYY???" as the mood may strike you, and afterwards of course make sure to berate everyone for their callous disregard for human life and then weep bitter tears over the grave while repeatedly wishing out loud that God had taken you instead.

I've never understood why so many people refer to a "god" in conversation, while expressing no believes in any sort of deity. I realize it's just the speech patterns that we're so used to leaking through, but come on, at least roleplay having a god if you're going to take their name in vain.

The game mechanics don't really allow for all fear to be shown. If someone hits you and takes 30% of your life away, in RL you're probably either going to be wounded on the ground unable to move, begging for mercy, or run off, or pull out some weapon that kills them instantly. You're not going to have a three day battle until one of you is finally dead. That would be a long drawn out fear fest, probably die of a heart attack first. :)

If you know those 30% can instantly be healed by simply eating some healing food the wound of course isn't that fearsome.
But it woud still hurt. :(
I think ...

Because in this case it would be part of the joke?

But yeah I get what you mean. I've seen people sort of vaguely referencing 'the spirits' or whatever and I don't see any problem with that, but the idea of a capital G 'God' is definitely more of a specific real life thing.

My characters use "gods," and only if they've been exposed to the concept.

Probably giving a couple away but mine use 'the stars' but I'm not really sure why, I think someone must have used it IG when I first started playing and it stuck with me. It is all I can do to stop myself sometimes during particularly absurd moments to blurt out: Jesus H. Christ on a crutch.
And when I walk I'm a cyclone
You should see it get rolling
Open my heart and emotions rip out of me
My emotions rip out of me

I've always wished cantr had a stress meter that went up when you did certain things and went down when you lived in a nice articulate environment. Nice furniture. various foods, decent clothes etc. so that combat would be 'long term' only possible if you are integrated with the rest of the game (ie not a suicidal newspawn).
