wouldn't this make more sense?:

If the time between clicks is X then take Y

1 then 1
9 then 9
10 then 10
11 then 10
19 then 10
20 then 10
21 then 10
etc.

I mean, why should it cost 9 minutes if you wait 19 minutes between clicks but only 1 minute if you wait 21 minutes?

I like "MOD" over "MAX". But yea. MAX works.

A simple modal operation.

If the time between clicks is X then take Y

1 then 1
9 then 9
10 then 10
11 then 1
19 then 9
20 then 10
21 then 1
etc.

I disagree with a penalty. I would hate to lose ten minutes for reading a very long note or if I forget to log out.

if you look carefully, you'll notice that this penalty already exists, i'm afraid.
we were just talking about capping it.

Perhaps you guys are right, but it is just weird to understand that in this time, cantr doens't want money for their services. Maybe other games should learn from this.

I just thought it would be a way for cantr to get a little money. And the players get more minutes.
But I've got the feeling Jos will never agree to more minutes

I guess the idea, that when ya don't use all ya minutes on a day that those minutes which ya didn't use would be added to the minutes the next day, has already been suggested?

Ahh well, is it possible to donate when ya only have a bank account and not a credit card or something?

Yeah, you can.
Ask Jos for his bank account and transfer UR donation.

Did it once, before I had a paypal account, which still is the best option.

Basically, the thing that matters is the amount of time people spend playing Cantr. That is the primary factor affecting bandwidth. The 200 minute limit is not what matters. Keeping the limit at 200 and creating a system that would allow players to use minutes more efficiently (such as rollover or minute transfer) would also raise bandwidth use, so any such proposal is going to get vetoed. In other words, stop trying.

Yes. But I think that accidental minute loss could be reduced. One less thing players have to worry about.

The challenge is there doesn't appear to actually be a "session" for the game. What would be great for preventing the lapses where people stay logged in for a long time by mistake then click a button and wipe their time out.

Ideally it should function like bank sites etc. where after a set amount of time the "session" expires if there's no activity (usually 5-30 min depending on the site). Once your session expires it kicks you back to the loin screen before you can continue again.

Personally, I would make the session 5 minutes for a game like cantr. It's long enough that if you're waiting for something to happen you don't keep getting kicked out - but short enough that you waste almost no time. Plus if you're sitting there doing nothing for more than 5 minutes you're just throwing away minutes.

That would do essentially the same thing as the 10 minute cap.
The only difference is whether you would have to login again (which is no big deal anyway).

I don't need more minutes. Yes, I'd like them, but yesterday I used 52.

Not logging off--not to be mean, but that's your fault.

Donations are exactly that--voulentary. Getting extra things wouldn't happen. For my birthday I'm donating $20 towards Cantr--I'm not expecting anything back. Cantr has given me more than I could ever give it--if you rely on it that much you should donate to donate, not to get something in return.

Ok, there's another one of these topics "rally cry for 300 mins" on the same friggen front page this identical one was posted on. I say as Sho decreed, we smite with our sidearm sabres, their smack sad simply sardonically scornful scriptures sinningly suring Satan's stifling suppression.

In other words, smack em hard.

And when you run out of minutes, you can always use your time to browse this forum.

This is certainly exciting. *yawn*
