I have a mute as well, she's in her thirties. Kind of a pain when you go to one of those towns that wants you to talk, though.
Why is seeking wealth so boring? I agree that massacring towns once you have a sabre and an iron shield is kind of dull, but if characters don't have wealth as their goal, how can there be trade? Most towns are stagnant, with completely unequipped food-harvesters as about half the population.

When you say 'stupid' here, you seem to mean 'ignorant' or 'disabled' (mentally or otherwise). I don't have a problem with either of those.
But when so many people seem to have no intelligent self-interest, I have a problem with that. The idea that resources are more valuable if they aren't locally available seems to totally escape the vast majority of characters. And I wouldn't call that 'good RP'.
And I admit, the ambitionless hordes do kind of get on my nerves...they may do good roleplaying, but it isn't necessarily in-character to put the desire to chat with your friends ahead of any sort of profitable employment.

No one ever said that you can't or shouldn't RP. But many, many characters do nothing but RP. That bothers me as much as the reported people who never say anything at all. Either way, you're throwing away a major aspect of the game. (actually, RP only characters bother me more, because I never notice the silent ones...)
I like creative personalities too. But personalities that aspire only to show off how creative their inventor is...
