I think takeovers are done by people who are seeking attention, and going about it in the wrong way. Perhaps these people are impatient?..because anyone can run a town if they just pay their dues and work their way up the political ladder.

I disagree. I think that people who do take overs do it honestly rather than run up the ladder to the top positions and lie and cheat the people of a town to gain power.

Military takeovers can be done "justly" but most are not.
Poltical ladder climbing can be done though just showing you care but most of the time it seems not to be the case.

The only pure way of "takeover" is colonization of a vacant area. Especially now with the new iron and the animals it is just plain hard and honest work.

They have lost quite a few soldiers in different types of massacres and liberation attempts over the years...

But that had nothing to do with Naron. The Black Wolf was from Xiria and the pirates were from Alenz Hills. If they hadn't attacked Naron then they would have attacked Lad. So Naron provided security, manpower (spawn city), as well as resources, and access to the sea.

So very correct...I don't think anyone realized that Naron was worth all the trouble the Empire went through for her and more.

As for takeovers in general I don't know of any (not even my own) that have really worked the way the were sopposed to, and other then Purple Tortuise I don't know of any that lasted more then 5 years and didn't accomplish much if anything during that time.

As for why they happen: For sh*ts and giggles for the most part I would guess, perssonally I like seeing how long I can keep someone alive that has the world against them. And when it comes to violent takeovers, well, if no one pays enough attention in a place to keep the ground free of steel weapons, iron shields, and keys then you gotta expect them to happen. How long and how many did it take to root that crazy woman out of Klojt?
