Husband: "What are you playing?"
Me: "Cantr, it's a text based game."
Husband: "Text based...so you have no pictures? All you look at is that green screen?"
Me: "Yup."
Husband: *stares at me in shock* "How can you play a game that has no pictures?"
Me: "I use my imagination."
Husband: *long pause* "I don't get it."

Are we married to the same man?
Reveal to me the mysteries
Can you tell me what it means?
Explain these motions and metaphors
Unlock these secrets in me
Describe the vision, the meaning is missing
Won't anybody listen?

You could introduce him to Cantr, step by step, like first telling him about what books are...

I dunno how on-topic this is with the original intent of the thread, but I thought I'd share anyway.

How many of you gather a visualisation of a place just because of the terrain type, location relative to others, resources, etcetera?

For me, with every character of mine...is in an individual place. And each place "looks" different. For example, I imagine most places with hills (Klojt, half of Burgeo, parts of Cantr, etc.) to be perpetually cloudy, but each is recognisably different to my mental perception. For example, Klojt has a different look to it than Sjoftich Hills North has a different look than Kaliwest Gardens has a different look than location 161 on Fu (which I actually imagine to be quite sunny seeing as it is right next to a beach).
Forests are -usually- dark, but these too have their own images to me. New Xanth doesn't look like Dove Forest doesn't look like Ginger Forest doesn't look like Longinazy Forest East doesn't look like Karnon Forest doesn't look like any of the forests on Burgeo.

I hope you all get what I mean by this.

You know, I see the same places with different characters differently too. For example, when I had two characters in the same town, I saw it differently with each character. It was still recognisably that town, but there were differences based on the experience each character had had prior within that town.
