I roleplayed night and watching the stars once. It was only possible because it was another Dutch player. But I'm sure that some people would play along regardless of RL night/day status. Night does exist, since it is referred to now and then.

The time is same for all. Altering this would only create chaos, I'm afraid :?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Alright next question I've seen troubling a few is: How do Cantrians tell other Cantrian's age?

This seems to be a problem because they do age but don't degenerate as they apparently don't die of it. I've mentioned that it could possibly due to their hormones or some such... Any thoughts?

It's a sixth sense... or more like a 5 sense Cantrinian's don't technically have a sense of touch.

I agree with Dudel, although if you limit their senses strictly to the interface, they don't have a sense of smell either.

... So only taste, sound, and sight, and the fourth sense of age? I think that places a lot of limitations for RP and would force a lot of players to have to alter theirs... Personally I don't think this should be the solution.

There is no rule that you can't RP a sense of smell, touch or taste. They're just going off mechanics which would really limit you to only sight and sound.

:) Yes exactly... it is after all only a discussion and doesn't need to be followed if you choose not to, but I do believe a general consensus should be reached for a few things... Such as the day and night topic previously. As these can cause quite a bit of forced rp conflict... Which is in essence bad rp but not on purpose. Hopefully, these can clear some mucky air about certain subjects.

Still in the time discussion, I don't see how it is so complex for some. I support people RPing that it is sunny, or that it's night and even that it is raining. What the heck really, it's much better than watching them hunt.
And people RP about something every once in a while, they wouldn't RP that it is night everyday, at the same hour for long long years. So why should we be so hard on people who are just trying to make this game a little more interesting for us?

As for the aging, Cantrians don't age like us. Although some people RP old people has being old, which I support too, I don't see anything wrong with 60's hunting bears. After all, they do it better than they did in their twenties (well, slightly at least  ). And I've seen couples of twenty year old women with a sixty year old men. So, what differs a 20 from a 80, in such a way that our characters notice it immediately? Well, the crossbow, the 3 iron shield and the hemp hat.
Or maybe, the sleepiest he is, the older he is.

Like mustaches -- The game mechanics can neither prove nor bust mustaches.

Multi-limbs..? -- I am not yet sure whether or not the game mechanics can help out here.

Portals..? -- A portal would mean, as has been stated, that the character can 'travel' from one location to the other. The multi-limbed mutant-thing seems to have 'traveled' a few meters through this summoned (I am not sure if I remember correctly, but I think 'summons a portal' was how the rogue-multi-limbed-character emoted it) portal. Which would mean the portal would allow the character to instantly travel from A to B. From anywhere to anywhere.

The Game mechanics to do not allow someone to travel from anywhere to anywhere within a split second.

Doug R. wrote:The GAB has discussed it and concluded that Cantr characters are human, or as human as they can be as dictated by the game mechanics. That still leaves a great deal open to interpretation by the players.

This is in response to the ridiculousness that spawned this topic, and is not intended to start an inquisition against characters that may be considered human with exotic features (odd hair colors, deformities, genetic diseases, etc.) This is meant to give the PD a platform to stop 8-armed giants.

I suppose this should be posted someplace more official, but I don't want to make it out to be a larger deal than it is (as 99.99% of of us have been playing this way since we spawned our first character). Maybe someone could add it into the wiki in the appropriate place?

Actually support each other.
- Every person lost in war is two too many.
- Respect comes from two sides and must be earned. Nobody has the right to it because of a title, sex, age, race or birth.
- What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
- I believe in True Love, do you?

Right, I think that's what he was getting at but somehow failed to make a note of that...... and I'm not sure why he posted them in here.

Rules like that and many others need be on a main Cantr sign up page, or something.

ALSO: There is no moon, sun, starts or wind in Cantr. Y'all are crazy... sails are under the ship and work on ocean currents. :?:
