Well, then, if you take care of it well you can move part of the people to the island and keep some on shore. Being able to fish on the sea would definitely encourage these ideas. Oh and there'd be radios of course. And enough resources to keep working for a long time. And lots of fun. :) Awww.. I wish fishing from a boat that isn't moving would be possible.. :(

"Cabins

* Small ship cabin (Two can be built on a ferry, raker, galleon, soarer, and skimmer).
* Medium ship cabin (A single one built on a ferry, raker, galleon and skimmer).
* Large ship cabin (A single one built on a galleon and skimmer). "

Does this mean you could buy 2 small cabins, one medium and one large on a skimmer/galleon?

Captain Hobbes wrote a few short stories envisioning floating cities, but they weren't as popular/easily found as the encyclopedia. But would be a great sale on Cantr-E-Bay!

PS: The names of the 3 stories are:
"Simple Silence" -written on 892
"The Collection"-written on 892
"Mutiny"-written on 899

My stone-cold-dead librarian, Bugs Malentio would have killed for those. :P

Should see the pile of notes one of my char's has just unearthed. Thousands of notes, some dating back to the 600's IIRC.

The tricky part's sifting through them all and finding the ones of any real historical value. Then there's the whole linking things together, sorting first by date, then by situations/people/places..... But that's the fun part :D

the best library i've ever known was the one in doryiskom. vicky did an amazing job maintaining it, it was a shame to see her die... :? anyways back on topic....haha....one of my charries is trying one last time to create a floating city of sorts....for religious purposes really.

Traveling from Burgeo to Treefeather, one of my characters started on a sloop and collected lotsa boats on the way. We finally had a Galleon, sloops, longboats, dinghies, and maybe a rowboat or canoe, I forget.

I believe we even left a Galleon behind because we couldn't dock it to our main Galleon.

As for vehicles, I built a few limo's and vans back in the day... and I think the Stone Knights turned into a biker gang with the number of dirt bikes we built.

I have my own vehicle related question as well, hope no one minds me posting it in conjunction here. If so, I apologize. Just seemed to make sense given the topic's title... Anyways, its weight distribution. Does having a lot of weight when you ride in a vehicle, make it slower or something? I rode a motorcycle to the next town almost instantaneously and wasn't carrying much. I have a bit over 14000 grams now and its been at 0% to the next town for ages now. and yes it has a full fuel tank. So am I just overencumbered or what?

Has the travel tick passed? Could you check the speed of the bike, just in case it might have been set to 0 by accident?

Sounds like the travel tick didn't come yet... Travel works exactly like work and everything, in ticks, each in game hour (which is 3 real life hours), you get a tick, at that moment, projects, or travel, etc progress.

It hasn't. I checked right after I started, to see if I could make it go any faster than 100%. I could not. But I think I might be correct in my assumption. Just hoping for some validation. I just refreshed for the 5th time and it is now at 29% after a couple real hours of it moving.

Hang on there. I don't mean to patronize or say your wrong or anything but there is 36 minutes in an in game hour. Wouldn't that mean one in game hour is a bit over a real half hour instead of 3 real hours? Feel free to correct me. Im just going by what the ingame clock thingy says. I could be wrong.

One Cantr minute takes 60 Cantr seconds, one Cantr second is about 5 rl seconds. Read more here ;)

Oh shoot. all this time I thought the seconds and minutes were the same as real ones. Now I have to re-work my calculations on a lot of my projects. hmmm. Well thanks for clearing that up. Didn't know they were that different. Speaking of which, maybe you can help me on the time frame of a project I am working on. One of my characters is working on a 18000 gram silk gathering project started on day 4230. It is 56.6 percent complete. Based on my earlier logic of cantr time I assumed it would take me about 3 real months to complete. Uhhh now I have no idea. Can you help correct me with this? Im trying to figure out how long till its finished.
