What do I love about this game?
What Phalynx said. And a bit of what Voltenion said. And all of what BarbaricAvatar said. And what viktor said. And especially what DylPickle said. And what joo said. (Does that mean I´m not the only weird person in the world? Hooray!).
I really like it that in Cantr a character doesn´t need anything but food. Everything else is (more or less) luxury so I can base the decision if my character wants fine silk clothing and steel weapons or a loin cloth and bone club or nothing at all on the character´s personality.
What keeps the game interesting for me is the interaction, the challenge to remember to leave my own point of view and look through the eyes of someone else.
I also like it that it is text based, graphics could never be as realistic as the imagination (that´s why I like books better than films, if an actor is unconvincing all the immersion may be gone, that can´t happen with a book. And Cantr is even better than a book. Wow, I never thought I´d ever say such a thing.)

Amen to that.
For example, Hamburger Hill.... I read the book when it got out, and couldn't be pried away from it.
Then, the movie came out... they cut out pieces of the story, actors were trying but just didn't get it right (with one or two exceptions), and they basically buttf-- errr messed up the end of the story.
Cantr is a book you don't just immerse in, but a book that is about your decicions and life/lives (as a char), written by and about you (as a char).
hmmmmm beer.... pizza.... computers.... women... stir-fried furry little critters...

Exactly.
Oh, and I forgot to mention some things which keep Cantr interesting for me... meeting characters who speak a different language without the possibility to use english (as long as they don´t suddenly start to speak english "because it´s easier", I hate that), and the group dynamics, especially in medium sized towns. And people don´t sneer at poetry that actually makes sense. And rhymes.

Same here. I can only say that Cantr's very potential alone is what attracts me to observe this otherworld.
That and maybe that you can whatever you can to make this game instantly more interesting. I'm seeing impressions that this game is more fun the more you play it; my impression's the other way around.

Actually I think it's a bell-curve. As in, we all are a bit confused about Cantr at first, it's interest level is low. It slowly increases, to a pinnacle after about 6 months to 2 years depending on the person.. then it goes down again. You're at the 'going down' bit, lol.

I like:
Being able to make things and the satisfaction of achievement when you do.
Having a reason to write stuff.
The fact you're playing with real people not AI.
That's about it. At the moment, the slow response (lag) means I rarely have time or energy to do much of the writing/interacting, and it causes the making things to be more of a faff, so a lot of my enjoyment is gone. That and I'm probably sliding down the bell-curve now.

Hmm... what keeps me addicted to Cantr?
Only in Cantr can you get this error message:
ERROR: You cannot eat wood to get strength.
Also, I like the anonymity. I like being attached to a character rather than the person playing it. It makes playing in character so much easier.
My favorite thing is the open-endedness. In no other game do you have this degree of freedom over your character. (Except in pen-and-paper RPGs, but they're a different arena.)

Interacting with foreign people, Since I made a Spanish char, i got even more addicted because I was able to see a different community than the Portuguese, and it made me write a lot on the next few days *sighs*
I also am addicted to Cantr because I have nothing to do in my (little) free time
so i just keep RPing and visiting often the forums

A very funny situation that had happened to me once or twice was that I had more three chars traveling, the three were in different places, one of them was in a different island, and suddenly the three of them heard someone trying to break a lock!
I got to think for a minute, what was that guy using to break the lock, an atomic bomb?

Usually it happens when you click the button twice, but it might also happen when two people are about to do the same thing at once. I think I may have created an undocking ghost ship lately, though I hope not. I didn't have any characters traveling on foot so I couldn't find out if anyone saw.
