I picked number 4 of course. We all need the evil cantrian trying to start a group / take of a town. Create a massive army, take over land far and wide and become an empire and then the world... But while doing that you also have the hero(es) who rise against and fight.. Will people be trustworthy and loyal, (die for you). Or at the chance they get switch to the winning side.. So many options and exciting things come from #4. And thats why I like it

the most evil characters are those that fight on the side of good. trust me, ive seen it.
The ones who do the worst things are the ones that feel they are justified in what they're doing. Like Tammy Snowe killing me, and Rolland, and Mr. S. and hunting down Ashley, all in the name of Donii.

My super-genius newspawn thieves no matter how smart died.
Easier said then done.
Then they weren't that smart then. =p
Believe me, there are definitely ways of being a successful thief...although sometimes you gain the most by not stealing...

I would have to go four. I have been wanting a battle, anytime, I have a few blood thirsty characters.
Good luck
Good luck
When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.

Actually, her reason was that S and those folks killed. My char was one she met in Zuzi and took along to Pok Harbour, and she told my char some things about S that pointed out he had it coming for killing the wrong people. That was before she really bought into the whole religious thing. So her justification wasn't religious, it was a need to do justice. That Roland and the others ended up helping S in his attempt to kill yet another group of people was what made her go after them, too.
In fact.... had you guys not killed that one Priestess, I suspect Tammy wouldn't have really joined the Church as far as she did around that time.
hmmmmm beer.... pizza.... computers.... women... stir-fried furry little critters...

I put 5.
I can decide if a character is good or bad before spawning, clever or intelligent, I may even give them some eccentricity, but to set any objectives beyond that seems daft to me.
Say you decided they are going to be a good townsperson, loyal and just, caring and follow the laws then you spawn in the middle of a cruel regime, you can't easily square the circle. Similarly Spawn a evil empire builder and end up in the desert with noone around... Evil or not the objectives would have to change imediately.

My newspawn waited six Cantr years, but now he is in the process of doing most of the things on the list. Sometimes, you just have to wait, or travel to a different town.

We've had this discussion before ... it's OOC knowledge that it will be different in other places.
I guess after some years your character might pick up an idea of the region from contact with outsiders, but not always.

But it's also natural to go explore the unknown if you're not happy with a known. If every place is the same, then leaving isn't going to make anything better or worse. It's a neutral act altogether. If this place is crap, and maybe everyplace is crap, if I go down that road, and I end up in the same crap, at least I had a peaceful walk between the two locations.
And if the option is to either walk down the unknown road or kill yourself because you can't stand someplace, I think 99% of charries will take the road.

Human behaviour would, of course, suggest otherwise... However there is a difference between living in a place a couple of cantr years and realising you have no future, or are being opressed, and spawning, reading the laws looking and around and just moving on...
But let's face it, it is only a game after all!

But it's also a simulator of societies.
Why does everyone feel the need for advancement? Losts of people should have ambition, but I know a lot of my characters are pretty happy with the middle of the road. The nice, stable life.
I think Cantr needs more political movements. Most people don't realize that behind the smiles, 90% of cantrian leaders are dictators, and wages are still mostly non-existent in most of the cantr world.
Where are the revolts?
