I don't even play female characters, I couldn't rp a woman correctly, I don't know how they think well enough, and it'd be very weird, especially if she met a man she liked... I don't know if I could RP such an encounter... Hell, I'm learning things about myself and the world relationship wise by playing male chars.

I couldn't play a gay male character, it'd be way too far beyond my limits. I don't hate gay men, but I just find that sort of thing "not to my liking" to put it kindly, and don't want to hear/read about it, let alone RP it.

I know a couple lesbian couples in Cantr, neither of my charries that knows em really gives a care that it's two women, and one of them probably wouldn't even care if it were a couple of gay men, the other would probably find some excuse to avoid them, but he hasn't met such a couple yet, he's only thought about this sort of thing since meeting a lesbian couple, and he isn't very fond of the idea of "man love", he's very simple.
The freedom to be completely insane, also to lose the game.

Here today, gone from the face of the 'net tomorrow; such is the military life. Pardon my oscillating existence.

I was wondering when they would get mentioned. Rupert was mine, unfortunately I had to kill him along with several other characters recently since I barely have enough time to play any more. Now I feel worse about getting rid of him considering how few gay couples are in cantr. :(

For some obvious reasons, it wasn't uncomfortable for me to roleplay a gay character. I would be interested in finding out who played Elam and how they felt about it, feel free to pm me.

Don't worry Seeker, I'm pretty sure I've seen a few gay couples around. Hmm, I wonder what the ratio of male/female players are. I've never really thought about it before.

I've never understood the problem with any of it...

After all it's a character and not supposed to be you. Your personal opinions should not affect that in any way. Personally I let the situation and character decide.

Of my newest batch of characters not that many have discovered any kind of sexuality yet, male or female. though one may be gay. He's unsure, as it feels wrong. not because it's a man, but because he hates the particular man he is falling in love with for other reasons. And the other man remains oblivious, so I hope it becomes fun to roleplay as if he ends up that way it will be my first gay character of any kind.

I tend to decide things about my characters before they spawn. That includes sexuality. The only problem I have with role playing the sex, is I'm sure I'm not doing it right. I'm sure its abundantly clear I am a guy from the way my characters interact, because they act like a man would want them to. Thats my problem.

Yeah, it's annoying when chicks are all about giving and won't give a damn about their own needs. It might be so that the biggest sluts are actually played by guys. It's ok for a girl to be a bit needy, demanding a massage or oral attention. ...I think I might have the problem that my guys are to eager to give oral sex or massage and aren't thinking with their penises like a real man should. :P

I'm all about giving in rl. So you aren't doing anything wrong, don't even worry about it.

It is better to give than receive...as long as the charry your intimate with believes the same...lol

I have played women but most are dead :P None of my chars have been gay, though they have had sexual encounters with other males and its no issue for me.

Most of my charries are male, but I could hardly imagine them going intimate with a woman - it would just feel to awkward for me to rp, so... be prepared for few gays more when they grow up from gaining the basic things (...maybe except of one, a 'genuine 100% uke', I wouldn't expect from him more than blushing and running away whenever 'that special person' even looks at him )
As for female chars - I just started making them, mostly in Polish zone (my gents are all eng.), and most of them still have more important things to worry about (i.e. a shield and some food), but in few cantr years... who knows...

I've given this topic some thought, but this is the first time I've read it (didn't know there was a topic on it).

I think that in r/l gay men are frowned upon as where gay females are applauded by almost everyone save religious figures and jealous wives. This isn't my personal belief, but its what I've noticed of my local culture. I live in Los Angeles, California btw... umm.... better known to the world as Hollywood.

My point being, in the odd view on our world, shouldn't we have more lesbians then gay men? IN contradiction though, I'm hearing more about gay men in Cantr then gay females. What leads me to this belief is that females who play men know the whole range of reactions from both sexes, as where on average a guy is hardwired to react a certain way.

There are exceptions of course, as there is to everything, but I think that could possibly explain why gay males are more common. Now... on my own personal run ins with gay relationships... are well.... none. I haven't been knowledgeable of a single gay relatinoship in Cantr so far. I gave it alot of thought of creating a female character after I realized that a split-personallity character (who was male) was played by a female. My issue, which has already been mentioned, is that I have the bad feelnig people will see right through the charrie and see a guy on the other end of it.

All of my characters are males for the simple fact that I would feel very weird and awkward RPing a relationship as the female in it.

I have a sexually active lesbian. I've found its easy. Not so hard when you take the penis out of the equation. (pun intended)

I find that RPing opposite gender characters enables me to be more creative. My same gender characters all seem to reflect various aspects of my own personality or are constrained by my life experiences of societal expectations of my gender. Whereas, my opposite gender characters are all unique in some way and freer (not totally free) from these constraints.

As for relationships, I’ve had males hit on my female characters, females hit on my female characters, and females hit on my male characters. Even though I’ve only had experience in RL with one of the aforementioned, I’ve allowed my characters to go ahead with an intimacy that I have no RL experience with if it seems in keeping with their character. Here again, it calls for a bit of creativity….
