You know, to solve mysteries and such by seeing how they died. It would happen all the time I am sure. (There is a reason why I am not posting this in suggestions ;))

Actually here is an interesting idea: Disintegrating graves and the bodies you put in them. Basically you dig a grave, then you put stuff into it, eg bodies. This way you can bury treasure, people, notes. Since the game is node based, it would be awkward to undig one thing and not something else though.

Then... shouldn't there be a way to preserve them?

What about making a coffin? It could be iron or wooden with cloth linings and such.

What about formaldehyde?
I don't need a myspace; I spend enough time in other people's spaces.

Hang on... what I get from this is that dead bodies, once buried are still in the DB? Or am I just extrapolating too much?

'Cose if they were still in there then that leaves room for some cool ideas. (Not just zombie hordes erupting from the ground to devour us all)

How feasible would digging people up be?

They exist in the database as a name and where they were buried only. As far as I know (from my exerience in the PD) all other data is lost (skills, clothing, etc).

Clothing still on the body when it's buried is still in the database and is still associated with the dead character

(about 25% of all clothes being worn is buried or lying on the sea bed)

Ok, now I'm all for a zombie plague (except there aren't enough characters as it is, so I guess we don't want to kill any off with zombies)

What happens with a body that is carried by a character when it 'dissappears'?

Characters can't pick up bodies so it's irrelevant - as I said bodies are effectively buried in their last location when they decay 100% . That can be in a vehicle, outside town location , ship or room

And Doug - I wouldn't ask for a plague of zombies ... not with 140,000 dead chars and 8,500 living

In your heeeeeeead
In your heeeeeeeeeeeeeead
Zoooombie, Zooooombie.....

We have thousands of thousands of fierce animals, but no problem.
We could have 140.000 zombies, lurking around, and randomly punching people.

And it would give more sense to the Pie's suggestion of a NUKE!

Tyche es una malparida. Espero que Ramnus y Pluto intervengan... o no :P
