Do you mean water wheels as water powered lumbermills? Because that sentence didn't make any sense to me.

I think it is fine at the moment and will be left as is. 25 grams per day compared to 400 grams per day is a noticeable difference. At 25 grams per day, the primary use of water is going to get a little bit expensive. ;) The well pumps at 400 grams per day, which is a noticeable improvement.

What are the odds that you will get 16 characters with water skins working together to match the capacity of one character with a well? You must be playing a different Cantr than I am if you think that is going to happen. ;)

I have moved this to General Discussion from General Support.

That's too bad. Because I still have a problem with water being available at every location (even deserts) while it is not visible on the locations screen. And collecting the resoure will not use any gathering slot.

I do agree that gathering water normally (with a water skin) will yield far less water as collecting it with a machine like a well or a water pump.

But why should wells and pumps have to be build if water is available everywhere above ground? And why can water be collected with a water skin (a device normally used to store water, not collect water) and not with a bucket (a device normally used to transport liquid materials)?

A water skin could very well be a container that holds 50/100/500 grams of water. Or a water skin could double as a bucket when collecting water from a well. And springs could be added to all locations and water could be collected without digging a well with the use of a water skin or bucket.

How exactly does a character collect water anyway, using a water skin? (I mean, which buttons do you click, etc?)

Check the wiki on the water skin...

I think you just use the item, then select the correct project.

I believe you have to put it on the ground first, then you select the project, pick the water skin up and then work on the project. 8)

thats like why use a crossbow instead of a bone spear.

Yep, you do - add that to my list of dreadful user-interface features ;-) Took me a good while to work that one out.

lol I have no idea what I was thinking there. Maybe it was the watermill/well both ending in double L and wood and water starting on the same letter. Actually I meant that you can lift several kilos (liters) of wo-- water! (see, I almost did it again) from a well in real life. So being limited to grams is just as ridiculous as several other things in Cantr.

Speaking of updating, i've noticed a lot of boats in the game which don't have information on the wiki since i restarted playing. Does anyone have info on these?

What, new boats? I don't think new boats have been added since ever. Could you mention some names?

Ah, on second look it apears they are sails and masts. Sorry to confuse you. Still don't know what they do though.

There is this value in the wiki called increasesailing, it's a multiplier added to the base speed, so basically if you add a mast that increases it by 0.02 which is not notable but if you add sails then your ship gets notably faster. And the masts are a base requirement for the sails.
