It's easier to figure it out in game if you have a chance to before you die. This may just be 'interesting' for people sitting next to their hall full of spare food, but for characters who have no storage, nowhere to leave things, and no spare food supply, if they eat their entire food supply in one day, that would be annoying enough probably to push some people out of the game entirely.

If, on the other hand, this somehow only happens to people who can afford to lose that amount of food (ie none of my <23-year-old characters), then maybe it's less of a problem. But if one of my characters comes down with this and runs out of food, I'm ready to be seriously dicked-off.

As it is, none of them have yet, so I'll just continue to experience this phenomenon second-hand through the forum...!

Find out in game? My character just lost her entire provisions of healing food she needs for the aggresive animals present. Her entire cooked meat was gone and almost six kilos of spinage were gone.

'Figure it out in game' is not a satisfying or comforting reply.

ya this is a bit extreem, im always going to be waiting for 40 days trying to get a new char now becuase they are eating way more than usual, one of my chars ate 804g of potatoes and will now probbly die of starvation and i will have to wait anouther 40 days for something i couldnt help! stop messing with the system there, unless a generous person come along (not likely, last two people in town tried to kill me for no reason) i will have to wait for two charactor slots to open up, so i will be down 2 charators for atleast 20 days after this one dies of starvation, your making it impossible for newspawns to live on the new islands, and its not thier fault they spawned there! geesh give us a break, i can see why many people would quit over this, unless you spawn in a civilized islands you have no hopes anymore, between the wild animals attacking you 3 times a day and now you creating a random hunger none of the new islands will matter. just destroyed a good third of the game.

I believe this is one of Jos' personal projects. You will need to wait for him to comment.

Yes, I am a Wiki monster!... out of curiosity, has anyone who's experienced this problem been sick while it happened? I remember a post awhile back about being able to sneeze blood, is this another extreeme side effect of sneezing sickness maybe? I really hope it isn't b/c most of my charies live in places where the sneezes are commonplace, and I'd hate to have to drop what they are doing to have to waist thier time in quarintine.

Let me say this, plain and simple... the skill changes, made most my charris weak... one rediculously so...accepted... I have 2 charris that are strong, physically and emotionally... this has effected one with over eating and faintness.... if this kills the charri...either by disease or starvtion... or any of mine, I will not replace them... over eating is one thing, but the amount that they do? outragous! Some places fight hard to have what little food they have... some, scrape together what little healing food they can to protect against the massive numbers of animals, that are hard to kill with a longbow! You kill one, 6 replace it!

I understand that Cantr changes, but this sudden increase in food consumption... is going to kill many... expecially those on a ship without a chance to even FISH for food...

I have no idea what is intended with this change... but so far...I don't like it at all, Cantr keeps getting harder to play...... it is a slow paced game... but at the rate they eat..... gonna die fast...

I just want to take a minute to apologise here. I started that sneezing blood hoax. I've never seen it in game, and completly made it up to push the paranoid buttons of the people on the forums. Unless the staff decided it was a good idea and actually added it, which at least one member threatened too, you can't actually sneeze blood.

This feeling faint stuff is annoying, but overeating WITHOUT feeling faint is even more annoying. I don't know what cantr is trying to do except make everyone micro manage thier characters tiredness, food consumption, work and travel rates, and make everyone repeatedly question why they still play.

I though changes to the food system were done with the new eating rates all set in? Things just to easy for everyone still? Lets just make staying alive an extreme chore, that will make cantr "better"?

Can we get RD to add whatever it is people are smoking? Whoever's idea this is, seriously, PUT THE PIPE DOWN!
Reality was never my strong point.

well after reading about this new disease all i can say is, i hope the same thing happens to it that happened to the sneezing sickness, it gets weakened so people don't all quit the game, that level of overeating is insane how can people even stuff that much bloody spinach down thier throat? i mean i can understand if you ate 20-50% more than normal but to be eating.... ok what's 8k divided by 167 or whatever the spinach is at? and other foods are all pretty high that i see in this topic, maybe it is normal for diseases in cantr yo initially come out overpowered and later weaken so as to sort of show a developing level of 'imunity' i just really hope it weakens before my chars get it, especially ones who are responsible for feeding entire contrysides..............

Request for information: Have characters been repeatedly overeating? e.g. eating several hundred grams of spinage several days in a row?

Some have .
The eating amounts on 1724 was unintended and subsequently fixed - Eating rates after this date for all characters are as intended - including those who are overeating .

Can I have some background information on this change?

It's good to know that it's intended, but that doesn't help me understand what purpose it should serve.

About half my characters now have this new defect and for some it has enough impact to consider suicide.

If this spreads in the larger towns food will become more expensive than steel!! 30 odd people eating 5 days food every day is a LOT of food, espcially if theres only like 10 resource slots.....

Good job my only character who has it is sitting in a wharehouse full of potatoes....bring on the trades.

I had only one of my characters (out of 14) actually over-eat on 1724... they ate less on 1725 and since then they are eating what I expected them to eat. It was also the only one that felt a bit faint... but seems like he is fine now.

Maybe this isn't anything to really worry about... I have faith in the powers that run the show here that it will not end Cantr as we know it. :?
