Not unless they want to look like total prats... Or have a fairly warped sense of humour (yeah, as if I'm not in the first group...)

Personally I don't like this idea. All the new players will be be attracted to this zone and then they will just use it like one big chat room. I'm probably looking too far into the future or being too serious about this issue, but it sort of looks like a way to kill roleplaying.

Is this a satirical idea? If not it's stupid. It is definately OOC influence- what reason do the occupants have to use 'double dots bracket' to indicate that they are smiling, ie ' :) ' ?? Besides that, when writing it down, it is still an OOC influence. For example- if you use GG, that was derived from end-of-game matches, when players told the other players that the game was good, gg=good game. If someone says GG after being hit, like, 'Ha! I stabbed you! 'GG, noob, you suxors' then that is an OOC influence, at least, the language came from OOC.

Does anyone have a sniper rifle? Should we take HF out of that influential position as quickly as possible? And my suggestion of removing HF has far more value than implementing a txt-$p33k region.

Utterly stupid idea. :P

(btw the whole murder thing is only a joke, guys, only a joke..)

I say no, I hate leet. I think most over 5 do as well. Leet and other crap language is not needed in Cantr.

As any language. Cantr is not that big yet, that it could possibly have developed a true in-game language. :)

And what's wrong with "dubble dots bracket" ? Chinese uses pictograms, too.

But I see the problem of such an area. It would attract a special kind of player. In the end it would be a great slayorn and haxxorn, but there wouldn't be much of Cantr left like we know it.
So if we are to have a netspeak area, put a high wall around.

Yes. Revive the TBR and Barons, put them in boats (dinghys).. hundreds of them.. scatter them all around the island, and anyone who tries escaping.. well, you understand.

If the area is created, put it as far from all other places as possible, and give them no wood, so thay can't build any boats and have to wait for other language groups arriving there until they can get off their distant island.

Yes, or even better, discourage it even more by making it have a 100-hawk location, with a pile of dung sitting there, a drying rack, and roses. And some cooking machine. THATS IT. Then they can really play survivor, that'd be interesting to see if they can support themselves. Some people would have to kill themselves as to avoid being fed to keep others alive.

Oh and the 1-location island is surrounded by a lake, with no locations on that, then the lake is surrounded by a sea. So it looks like a target in a firing range from a birds-eye view...
..so when nuclear missiles are invented...

Sorry for the triple post but I can't help myself.
AND the first person to spawn with the skill of expert in fighting, gets an iron shield and crossbow in their hands instantly..

(edit: sorry, this is just a stupid suggestion and I'm not taking it seriously)

I like the diversity of English dialects represented in game as it is. Netspeak is just one of those, that doesn't happen to be spoken irl. And any char who overuses it doesn't last long in any case.

I have a few spare slots... tempted to spawn some netspeak charries now... it's no more OOC than loud larry, ploat and various other abberations from normal punctuation or speech, or indeed charracters that can't even speak...
