Welcome Millhouse,

Firstly, I would suggest that you don't create too many characters, as they will divide your attention and you will end up having a bunch of mediocre characters. I would suggest maybe four, or five characters in the beginning to let you get familiar with the game, and maybe once you get a bit more hardcore, you can play fifteen characters at once.

Secondly, the forums and the wiki are a great place to gain lots of knowledge about the other Cantrians and the game itself. I would suggest you be active on the forums, and have a good day!

I hope your characters enjoy an exciting life! (Don't be those boring townspeople who farm all day  )

It's nice that there are more players now, although it makes me wonder how long this trend will last. I wish also that we could get new Finnish players.

We gained a hundred players (across all language groups) since January. I still wish they'd reactivate fixed spawnpoints for small language groups. There are something like ten different options for Dutch characters to spawn, but only seventy characters. I'm pleasantly surprised that the Esperanto group has 24 characters apparently, I thought that would have died with Piscator quitting. A pity that no one even knows they exist in-game.

Anyway, welcome (back) everyone.

Would it be possible to get a breakdown showing which language groups grew the most during the last few months?

This is included in the time trend statistics you can find on the character page (scroll down).

I am quite new to the game, but anyway I've already reached the point when playing Cantr is not enough. So I figured that it is high time to say hello. :D Sometimes I wish I haven't discovered Cantr though, as I used to have so much time for everything. And now instead of having 24 hours a day I have only 8.

Hello!

As a teenager, I tried to get into Cantr, but only managed to produce a few short-lived, no doubt highly-annoying, immediately-starved-to-death newspawns (forgive me). For about a week now, I have been playing again and really, really getting into it.

Excited to meet you all! :)

JosiahH, you're forgiven. I don't think a teenager has the patience to appreciate a game like Cantr. It's hard for a teen to play a game where the rewards of your work might take months or even years to reap.

Welcome back and I do hope you'll find it a better experience as an adult. I knew that once I got into this game, I realized that it was the kind of game I was looking for years to find - a game of building a society, of intricate crafting, and of real consequences like permanent death. It was like Hearth & Haven or Salem without the random ganking and without the requirement to put in tons of time each day in order to advance. (Though one can put in tons of time on the social aspects, which are awesome.)

Actually I played it extensively when I was fourteen, for nearly two years before quitting. I'm twenty one now. I'll have to admit it's a completely different and more rounded experience now.

Some teens are more patient than others. I know I was rather hyper, though. :D
