Y'all are probably right. Though the talking back was for roleplay purposes, really.

My char is sort of a 'blonde' in terms of understanding things--they have to have certain things explained to them in plain language. This is one of those concepts: ownership of place. Houses, they can understand. But whole locations? A few words, "I worked hard to build this house. I don't want anybody hurting that or stealing from me," would've been nice. We could've worked something out. But attacking us with no further words? *shakes head*

Perhaps this is a bit of my char's personality leaking into my own reasoning and personality....which I hope isn't so. I like to think I reason through things better than my blonde character does...

Well now, my guess is on female.

I think this is more of you wanting another character to act in a different way. I have a character who is well on his way to believing that a whole island belongs to him, so one location is certainly doable. As for lack of any real communication, maybe it is in that characters nature to not be so talkative, maybe he met others that were incredibly stupid, and it had forever shaped his dislike of communication?

There can be blonde males.
I'm not saying my char is a blonde male, but I'm also not saying my char is a blonde female.

It probably is, somewhere deep down inside, my wanting that other character to act another way. And I suppose that's where my reality leaks into my roleplaying (I'm such a bad RPer...).
I do happen to know for a fact, though, that I probably had my char talk so much he probably would've died of agitation if such a thing were possible in Cantr. "Why do you want to kill us to badly?" "You know, if I met a group of random travellers, I think I'd be talking up a storm." As well as several paragraphs more... So the 'incredibly stupid/agitating' factor in previous years could easily have been why. I'm sure my char's not the first one to have travelled through that area.
To be honest, though, I'm kind of starting to irritate myself. Maybe I should just shut up now?

Knobs that ruin the game by suddenly hiding in buildings that only have enough room for one person and then constantly attack people.

Thats actually pretty funny and creative you have to admit. I haven't heard of this sort of playing since the earlier 300's of the game in Blojt. I understand the frustration of being on the receiving side of something like that but most people wouldn't bother to do something like that at this time, in cantr.
I hate people.

I have a char that has a room like that. :P I think they are more common than you think, the rooms just dont have to be used all the time. Beware the player that will take time to do this. :P

I also know XXX has a ship that is shoved full on the inside with the "bad guys" and the outside with "good guys" The stand off is impressive.

If it's the same one as I'm thinking of, the solution to the problem was very innovative and brilliantly performed. :)

And I am SURE she also hates my char, along with a lot of others. 8)
