No they live on, thats why there are only one or two left. Last count there were two, but one could have turned on the other after everyone else was done and killed him/her.

Sounds like a good colonization opportunity then. Free houses, maybe maps already, and no annoying people living there. Its like a dream

I thought Calico Jack was dead long before I started playing... Oh well, to my characters he will remain but a legend unless proved otherwise ingame.

A great alliance or expedition to get Calico will have exactly the same luck as two people with good weapons. It's ridiculous, a knee-jerk reaction to a very minor threat.
