Most of my characters were nearly that age when I unsubbed. Of course, I was told I would not be getting out of bed for close to six months, so...an extreme example there, but just stating that there are reasons, even for older characters.

Note: You can imagine how I felt when I was able to get back on the computer in about six weeks lol! A cross between Yay! and "Oh fu**k"

Could this be the same player of Darla Smith in Olipifirovash and Gloria in Olipifirovash West?

Of course people are free to speculate things but no one could really confirm or deny those speculations except for the player. Since other people are not supposed to reveal who someone does or doesn't play.

I don't know. People 'lose' it in real-life too, and just snap. It's not against the rules or unfair. It'd be wierd if everyone was always exactly the same for their entire lives. At least it made something interesting happen in Cantr for once. (I wasn't there and have no idea what happened, but looks interesting)

There are plenty of other ways to make things interesting than just drop dead. Although I wouldn't know if she rp'ed the death on some of the characters, but I saw two of them die without a word. Compare this to other people's characters who have said something like "I'm feeling a bit tired, I think I'm gonna lie down for a bit" and then they die.

When someone clicks the subscribe button, there's no fine print anywhere saying they have to take into account the feelings of other players. Many Cantr players put a lot of emotion into their characters, and that's fine, for you, the player, to do. Go ahead, get attached to other people's characters, fall in love, whatever floats your boat.

When, though, someone leaves the game without "giving a reason", no one has a right to shit on them for it, and they don't owe it to anyone to have to explain themselves. You just ~can't~ know what's going on in someone's life. Even if there's no reason, there is that chance, however slim, that they're actually just tired of Cantr.

Anyways, I just don't think it should be made a public debate every time it happens...If you know the player, just PM them, find out why. Much easier and respectful that way....

Well I was about the post the same thing as you did Cdls but you beat me by seconds! So of course I had to edit this post

I also agree with you, redRob. It isn't anyones business as to why someone pushed the dreaded 'x' . Yeah your char might be upset, and possibly you as the player.. but tis just a game no matter how anyone looks at it.

So getting emotionally attached to characters makes me an ass? Great... No, I don't know the player. I wouldn't have posted here if it was someone I was talking to. Not saying they would owe anyone an explanation but it would make (or would've made) at least me feel better about it. And it's not just this one player but anyone who leaves all of a sudden when there are people who care about or rely on their characters. It's hard to think they would imagine no one cares if they vanish. Every time someone quits like this, it's a reminder that it could happen to pretty much anyone. No matter how reliable you thought someone was or no matter how many times their character tells your character that she loves her and they're gonna be together forever, it could end in one click, and if you're not talking to that player OOC then you might never find out why, weren't you giving their character enough attention to give them a reason to live?

Seko, I apologize if anything I said makes you think I was calling you an ass (not sure who that was really directed at) it was not my intention at all. I agree with what redRob said as that is the outlook I have when playing the game. Anyone my chars RP with can just suddenly drop dead any second...no thought, no warning...nothing whatsoever. It doesn't make it any easier to deal with as a player, as I am one of those people that get attached to my characters, but at the same time, I look at things like that objectionably.

Well, I agree with most you have said. But (I suppose that it was just bad luck) a player who has left Cantr had a lot of chars in different relationships with a lot of mine (and I know this because all of them died at the same time, I don't know who played them), so it has been a bit annoying for me -as player- to have to redirect all these chars... Not blaming on anyone, all of us have our own life. It's just how I feel.
