I'm pretty sure it all boils down to this? Succinct CDLS!

Thank one of my college instructors for that...one quote: "If you have nothing to say, don't waste a whole page not saying it."

We also got docked points for 'filler' content. Really teaches you to think about what it is you are writing about.

It annoys me that some people use such a specific typing or emoting style that I can pick out all their characters. First of all, I don't like knowing that. Secondly, it means that when I see them playing one character I start to wonder why they're ignoring the other. :?

Dammit. I'm sure I'm guilty of that.

This is why I try to alter my emoting styles both visually (i.e. use of asterisks versus hyphens, capital letters, etc) and content-wise (some barely emote while I can churn out detailed paragraphs with others).

It serves to try to hide the fact that most of my characters are, essentially, one and the same (as well as mine). The mannerisms and speech patterns might be slightly different and there might be a few differing beliefs, but personality-wise they're pretty much clones.

lol....sortof

Well, all my chars have very distinct personalities, so I'm not much ashamed of that. I just... ugg. If you ever see anybody emoting "glances about theirself", you can be pretty sure that's me.

I use most of the same style of RP all around, if I tried to change it up I'd just get confused and then people would really know, if I suddenly started using a different symbol instead of using asterisks on everything, people would wonder why I keep switching, I play too fast between characters and anything that would confuse me isn't worth it, plus there's things like, I can't always find another way to say something that all my characters do often. Like giggling, I don't feel right saying "he titters" so I say "he giggles", I make no attempt to change it up because it's within my comfort zone. But all my characters are very very different people, even if some have similar quirks or qualities, it's obvious they have totally different outlooks and lives and I reflect that in my RP, some characters always giggle, some have never ever giggled, some don't even smile, but if they did, I would still write it the same just because. I don't need to pretend to actually be another player to hide my characters if I wanted, I see people using the same emotes I use all the time and I know they're not me so, I try not to assume who a player is just because they use hyphens or use the same phrase, there's a lot of RP copy-cats too, I know players personally who use my emotes often after seeing me use them, and I've also done that, imitated other players' RP in an attempt to give my own a little more variety, but it spans all my characters. Some even it seems get all their RP ideas from watching other people and imitating, which is good, that's a good way to RP if you're new to RPing, too.

I have a set amount of patience for new players... However, when a day goes by and they still haven't improved (after being given resources and telling them the rules of the game), it gives me quite the headache.

Especially the ones that leave your town without saying a word. Haha.

Depends on what hasn't improved (ie. there are some more complicated aspects to the game) but if it is something retarded like using OOC information or treating the game like a chat room, then I agree.

Me, right now I am having a MAJOR issue with domestication. Two dramaLlamas have migrated to a town I am in, and I started the domestication project by locking them in a kitchen and handing them cooking stones. Came back in a day later, and no progress. I think I may have to cull them from the town, so that they don't breed. We cannot afford an infestation.

Milk them for everything you can, and slaughter them if it's just not working out. :D

Tried that, was told it was inappropriate behavior.

A known dramallama has also been in another of the towns mine is in, although it has been completely silent since arriving. It isn't sleeping, as I noticed it working on two different repair projects. I think it has become docile, in which case, I could be a happy Cantrian!
